Finally i cleaned up the leather tool box straps after letting them absorb a lot of leather cream to soften them up. Polished the retaining plates and cleaned the rest of the parts for this area.

I was tired of the brake discs hub rusting...

So i had them ceramic coated as well as the inside of the discs themselves where rust also shows.

    Looks great and no rust.

    I understand u renovated a 275 gtb.

Tell me how u think the build quality of the 355 is in comparison?

Do u think the 355 is a solid and well built car?

Hi, yep 275GTB was an almighty task, just check out the nose on this:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vintage-thru-365-gtc4-sponsored-vintage-driving-machines/280041-restoration-starts-here-275gtb-shortnose-07333-a-3.html

I have done Porsches, Jag E type, Ford Escort Mexico and many others, but the 355 is one of the easiest car to work on, its a pleasure to be around. I comes apart easily, no issues getting parts, its a really enjoyable project. I am very lucky as my car has no rust or body issues, and everything i touch is very original and straight, which is more than half the battle on a mini restoration. I think the car is well built and logical, there is nothing too challenging about it.

Very solid and heavy chassis don't u think?

    Have u removed the motor/transmission?
    If not are u?

hi, to me its a great, I absolutely love it. For some reason i think it looks better now than ever, I could stand and look at it for ages.

I think it is a well built little car, i like the engineering in the chassis, it certainly not a heavy car as a package. Like every production car it can be made lighter, faster and stiffer - but then you start to lose the everyday driving appeal, I happily use my 355 as a daily driver.

Engine and rear frame come out shortly to do a complete major service and clean up.

NOTHING drives like a well-sorted 355, like the ones we both have Steve! Mine is like a Camry, until something goes wrong... ;)

    Hi,
Finally putting parts back on rather than off!

I have refitted all the rebuilt front dampers, fitted the new brake pads & disks. Refurbished air duct pipes back on with new fasteners. The BF Goodrich braided brake pipes were all perfect.

As previously mentioned all the inner body work and arches have been redone, just need to fit the inner arch trim.

Hi, i refitted the refurbished gearbox shield - I had to lossen all the exhaust to get it off which was a pain, but it went back together nice and easy. It was a good opportunity to check the condition of the exhaust valve, which is operating perfectly, and re-allign the exhaust pipes in the bumper recesses at the level i want them.

Prior to refitting i removed the cross-member and gave it a repaint and straightened the 3 handbrake cable retaining bolts. I also cleaned the actual gearbox housing and repainted it.

The final touch, hand painted the red back on to the Ferrari logo.

Refitting the front wheel arch covers. Have I put them back correctly, does the bottom cover over lap the outside of the vertical aluminium (painted black) plate?

    Thanks
