    My guess is either slight head gasket leak or the front internal plate cover was leaking. Never overheated. Couldn't believe it was even mechanical and not electrical. But it was definitely mechanical. 9 bent intake valves and 5 bent exhaust valves

    Well it obviously had one and possibly two head gasket leaks at the fire rings. No guessing required.

    I commend you on undertaking this work. I guess the sentiment was -- "I can't do anymore damage and if it's salvageable then I can save a ton of money.
    Keep the photos coming -- oh and by the way, have the diserator powder coated while it's out.
