    Title pretty much says it all... I'm thinking about moving my f430 on and adding a Ford GT. Anyone have/had a long-term relationship with a Ford GT of your own? Share.

    Sound idea. Bet it will cost over $100K though. I wish I'd have bought a Ford GT back when they were $150K

    Love my GTs. GT is the home team in USA & comes w a great story. Also it is a direct descendent of the mighty GT40 that destroyed all competition and FIA had to change rules to allow other teams to win LOL.

    Also its a good move financially cus the GTs will keep going up while all the modern Ferrari V8s will keep dropping

    agree with the others BUT, if you are planning to use the gt as anything more than a weekend weapon, then it will be a lot harder to live with than the 430. those doors make it hard to get in and out in tight places, the gas mileage is a problem because the tank is small, the vis is not nearly as good, the inside is less airy.

    My thoughts exactly... love the heritage and visceral rawness. Do the love the heritage and easy day-to-day of the f430 also.

    I would rather have a Ford GT than a F430 any day of the week. Price aside, that would be an easy decision. If I could afford a GT I would buy one today.

    Price is the issue. Just dropped off my car at Ferrari of Atlanta for service and they have a GT with only 18 miles on it. Asking $339K!

    Do it! You won't regret it! Amazing driving car with little to no upkeep costs.

    One with 5-10k miles will probably cost $210k or above now, and heading upward.

    Blue /white stripes is the fastest color. jk

    That's the going rate for delivery only miles GT's, but what fun is it to just look at the car? I'll put about 1500-2000 miles/yr, so I'm not looking at the super-low-miles examples. IMO cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed, and if they happen to increase in value along the journey, that's just gravy.

    And you actually sit in one, I didnt buy one as my head hit the roof, its ok if you are shorter...unless you lower the seat..and even then forget a helmet for a track day for me...

    +1... I have no issue with the cost of the car...the only thing that gets me is the 10% + tax....drives me nuts. Makes me think of buying a place MT.

    Triple Black minus any striping ^^^^ is just stunning and would easily help me not regret owning one in the Gulf color package. I knew the GT was appreciating but not to the extent some have pointed out. My only concerns would be the ingress/egress but this concern is minimum for myself. Another positive aspect is that the GT can be serviced at most Ford dealerships, I believe.

    Of course I would insist (attempt) on a 24-48hr loaner GT before I decided. Loving a car is the easy part, being able to live with the car is another thing. Good luck.

    Echo the thoughts above - Ford GT is a better investment but not as easy for daily driving.

    Be VERY careful and thorough when checking prospective cars to purchase. I was looking 3 years ago and every other Ford GT seemed to have a salvage title. Driver's jump on them before the tires are warm and spin or connect with a guard rail.

    Love the Ford GT styling and connection with legacy

    I have a friend with a Ford GT who also has a 360, Countach, Diablo, and others. He loves the GT, but it is ridiculously hard to get out of because of the doors running into the roof. You need to be able to open the doors all the way. Reduces the usability considerably.

    I have another friend with a GT 40 replica, and honestly, I'd rather have that. Totally raw, completely visceral, and as analog as you can get. Plus, a fraction of the price, and you aren't driving a treasure. Maintenance? Oil brake and transmission fluid changes, followed by brake pads and adjusting the carb and changing the plugs every so often. Nothing, basically.

    I'm seriously considering a GT 40 replica.

    Yikes. Really?

    So let's say you park your GT in a regular parking space, and go to Starbucks.

    Now let's say someone in a full-size car parks in the space to your left, within the lines, but definitely filling the space.

    Does that mean you'd pretty much have to wait for them to come back to get into the GT? i.e.-- In order to get in, does your door have to swing wide over the parking line?

    Voda, the Ford GT would be better in the rain in Seattle. Did you ever buy any of the cars that you have been looking at like the 365 BB? When are you going to join FChat? :)
