Rotate 90 degrees to get the correct perspective!
Nicely done, Mark! Your shield also cools the gearbox at speed. It's a Challenge part. Here it is on my F355 Challenge... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi thanks very much, appreciated. And thanks to everyone for the kind words and contributions to the thread All the best Mark
Mark Yup that is correct. I checked mine. Screws are old school don't you think? Not the most elegant of ways to attach the underpanels and arch covers to the car. Lots of different sized clips, screws and washers. Howard
thanks Howard. yep lots of different sizes! I have re-newed all the clips, screws and washers, hopefully good for another 17 years! cheers
Mark U going to go to titanium wheel nuts? And skid plates for the front under bumper? And...change the clutch and brake pedal aluminium grip covers for Hill Engineering ones..these actually do really grip your shoe....oem ones do not. When are the door scoop covers coming off?
Hi U going to go to titanium wheel nuts? No, i have extended wheel nuts from Paul at Hill Eng, for the challenge wheels, but not titanium. And a set of new chrome ones for the OEM wheels. And skid plates for the front under bumper? They are fitted already - picture posted earlier in the thread. And...change the clutch and brake pedal aluminium grip covers for Hill Engineering ones..these actually do really grip your shoe....oem ones do not. Yep - thats done already. When are the door scoop covers coming off? The door scoops were off and painted last time it was down at 355 Automobile Restorations. It has to go back there shortly to get both of the lower rear panels painted (where the Pininfarina badges are) as i am not happy with the paint on this area.
Oh...i was looking forward to seeing inside your doors from the outside....window guide brackets snap....try closing a door with its window half way open....does it rattle? Hows about the oem sill covers...they badly rust...i had mine powder coated...turned out great...along with the door mirror inner quadrants and i had the front grill powder coated..looks great..no stone chips. Food for your thoughts only
Hi, windows and guides are all good, with no rattles. All the window quadrants were refinished last trip to the paint shop. I have been thinking about the front grill - i want to get the strips and challenge wheels fitted, then i may re-do the front grill to match the colour of the Challenge wheel.
One day i'm gonna suggest something u haven't thought of. How r the three black trim pieces on the outside of the rear window...sticky?
What did you use on your knuckles? How dirty were they? I'm thinking about what I want to try to clean mine with.
Gee whiz Harry, I though i had a tough audience when i was restoring the 275GTB! ;-) I had Robbie from SNM refinish them when the rest of the plastic was done.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
The originals were shot unfortunately, and by the time they came off beyond repair. I will find an original set somewhere in time. see post 29 on page 2: The new carbon door sills. I have used the original rubber inserts as they were in perfect condition and cleaned up like new. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well the book calls it the rear hub holder it holds the wheel bearing and you mount the caliper and rotor to it.
