    Nothing to worry about.. its just that thingamabobber dohickey that holds the main bearing in... nothing to worry about. ;)

    My guess would be engine compartment given the grease on the inner cup. Doesn't immediately recognize though..

    By now I'm guessing it's more likely the former (thingamabobber dohickey) instead of the latter. And that's probably a good thing.

    I'm not sure if there's grease on the inside. But if so, it could be dry, like moly.
