    Iam not totally disagreeing Pete, but I still believe there is a trickle down effect, maybe small, but for instance, take a look at this for instance
    Or Olympus provides a fibre optic camera, which can get in nooks and crannies of the gearbox the human eye can’t under the current regulations. The camera has saved McLaren two DNfs thanks to identifying problems.

    So IMO Mclaren with what they have learnt by this method can go into their road cars.

    Yes there absolutely is a triggle down affect. That is what I am saying.

    What I do not agree with though is your comment regarding a road legal F1 car as being their purpose. Even if they do make one it is not why they are wanting the rules as they are, it is all about that triggle down to REAL road cars.

    No am not saying that is their purpose at all, I just found it interesting that Bas had mentioned it, and I had read somewhere there is someone working on one, however probably totally impractical.

    Apart from that slight misunderstanding we appear to be singing from the same hymn sheet..;)
