    Maybe to press the bearing into the "pumpkin"?????? That's my guess. Because the threaded end looks the same size as the for the ring nut.

    I thought too small at first, but we dont know how big that tool is.
    I now see what you mean ernie assming its big enough to cover the whole bearing and push it down on outside, the other end looks like it will screw down and pull the bearing in using the voith.
    Next question is why on earth bother when its easier to use a press to push bearing it and turn it over to push voith unit into it? especially at 250 quid!
