Good on ya Felipe!!! Topping the charts on the last day of testing.... Good to see him as the #1 driver in what appears to be a relatively reliable and quick car....

Giddy up Felipe!!!! Show em what you can do....

All this talk of Susie Wolff driving the car seems to have forced him to up his game already! :p

Massa may have found himself again with Williams. He's up against a very very good young driver there and he is clearly and obviously faster. Long runs, short runs, Massa is very fast there.

Good run by Felipe, but I show Hamilton topping the time sheets today. You were probably referring to yesterday's charts. Bottas was up there today too, though.

    P Driver Team Time
    1 Hamilton Mercedes 1m33.278s
    2 Bottas Williams 1m33.987s +0.709
    3 Alonso Ferrari 1m34.280s +1.002
    4 Hulkenberg Force India 1m35.577s +2.299
    5 Vergne Toro Rosso 1m35.701s +2.423
    6 Sutil Sauber 1m36.467s +3.189
    7 Chilton Marussia 1m36.835s +3.557
    8 Gutierrez Sauber 1m37.303s +4.025
    9 Vettel Red Bull 1m37.468s +4.190
    10 Button McLaren 1m38.111s +4.833
    11 Kobayashi Caterham 1m38.391s +5.113
    12 Grosjean Lotus 1m39.302s +6.024

Great job today by Felipe... Beat his teammate and both of the Ferrari boyz...

Even the Force India duo was passing the scarlet turds.... Enzo is rolling over in his grave...

The scud once again built another POS.... Long season for them it will be.....

Kudos to Massa for a great start... but he was outqualified by his teammate, and was gifted the advantage in the race by the Safety Car. Bottas had recovered from his bad start and was running ahead of Massa; Massa made his last tire stop first, which turned out to be just before the Maldonado incident that brought out the safety car. Bottas had to make his tire stop under full course yellow as the safety car was being deployed, and was held up as a result, rejoining behind Massa. As in the last race, Bottas had faster pace overall. Massa showed again that he's the #2 driver at Williams in terms of pace and speed.

Started 7th, went 3rd in the first corner, finished to 7th 30 seconds behind the leader.

4 Mercedes and 2 Renault powerplants finished ahead him. Clearly Mercedes engines are the class of the field -- and he has one.

Great drive? Depends on your point of view.

He did finish ahead of this team mate.

It wasn't a bad drive -- but great? The bar is mighty low for that to described for today's effort.

Massa was quicker than bottas all race. First a botched pit stop for massa allowed bottas to jump him at the first round of pitstops. The fighting with the Force Indias meant that after the 2nd round of pitstops he lost another 8 seconds to Bottas out of no fault of his own, and yet he closed that deficit to bottas again after just 6-10 laps. Before the safety car came out he had bottas well beaten. Not sure which race you were watching to say Bottas had faster pace overall, unless you're just here to bash Massa.

Luca must be furious with the outperformance of Kimi by Felipe so early on this season.

I doubt Luca gives a crap about either Williams driver, and is focused on improving the performance of his own team. I doubt Luca has given one minute's thought to old what's'--his-name-who-used-to-drive-for-Ferrari.

Mmmmm....... Whilst I agree that Maldonado is bloody awful right now, these drivers are also failing to impress Me and I'm not convinced that they are cut out for F1:

    Bianchi
    Ericsson
    Kobayashi
    Chilton
    Kvyat
    Gutierrez

But whether they suck or not, it has no bearing whatsoever on whether Massa sucks or not.

At this moment in time, it's no secret that the Ferrari power unit is not as powerful as the Mercedes power unit and it's nowhere near as smooth in it's power delivery as the Mercedes. The Mercedes power unit is suiting Massa very well and Williams have come up with a good chassis, giving him a lot of confidence.

At this time, it appears that Massa doesn't suck, but during his last few years at Ferrari he definitely did suck!

Now if you're trying to imply that kimi now sucks, well, so far this season I'd have to say: Yes he does!

So far, he's been a big disappointment to Me, but there again, perhaps the situation is highlighting just what a talent Alonso really is, and that Fernando is actually out-driving the car underneath him!

I'll look forward to your forth coming: "KIMI SUCKS" thread! ;)

I dont think Kimi sucks but overall he is not a great Ferrari driver. The system and rigidity dont appear to meld with him. He clearly has issues with the cars they build overall minus 2007. Its just one of those things in F1. He does well at Lotus in a non Ferrari car etc and now back with FA he is not doing as well. FA is head and shoulders above the car again. How long before he starts a FERRARI SUCKS THREAD lol :)

I'd say that unless both Mercedes hit problems again, then there's no chance of Massa winning tomorrow! - In race trim the Mercedes' will be too quick for the Williams!
(If Hamilton's car doesn't suffer from reliability issues or a crash then I fully expect him to finish 2nd tomorrow!).

Massa might finish 3rd if luck goes his way and he has a good race, but it doesn't take too much to go wrong for his head to drop and for him to lose interest and switch off.

We'll find out in the next 24 hours! :)

If both MBs and both Williams finish Massa is no higher than fourth.
