Great news... My arse fits in the carbon/ Kevlar seat. Bad news...at 6'5" I could use another 2" of headroom. Is there a way to mount the seat lower?
Have you removed the velcro'ed in factory lower booster already? This is worth 2" in height at least. Unfortunately there is no easy way to lower the seats much, even if you removed the tracks and fabricated some racing style fixed side mount arrangement you might only gain an inch or so with great compromise. You could get the driver's seat lower foam modified or replaced and the cover fit to match...other than that seat itself and the actual floor are the limited factors.
Thank you for your reply. The bottom cushion appeared to be integral with the bolsters. It's a Serie Speciale with the carbon/kevlar buckets.
They are already very thinm(low profile), I don't see you gaining any headroom from thinner foam. The tacks are also quite low profile and I don't rall see any gain. Those seats are incredible and I'd do my best to make them work for you. I have them in my F355, best mod I've done, no question. Rob
I wrongly assumed that you had the 355 carbon seats which have a second, removeable pad velcroed under the lower seat cover. Your seats may not be made this way.
I'm 6'3" with regular seats and needed more room. I went as far as modifying the rear deck , giving me space to recline back. Works well for me. But, you know, not everyone is OK with modifications.
