that could help to confirm the chasis no.

original colour should be Marrone Dino Met., interior beige 430 is matching...

May be possible to resurrect the number. Seems they can use a forensic technique to get the ground off number on a gun so maybe a Dino too.

They certainly have it, and use it just for that purpose on car chassis numbers that have been grounf off. It is based on the principle that when metal is struck by a die, that impression will travel deeper than the grinding.

Except, the seller is not interested in locating the chassis number as he stakes his reputation, that it is really the original number.

He will look for the other 'usual locations' to see if he can find build numbers.

So far, Matthias's Marrone and Amaranto do not match.

Very iffy proposition as, if the number is not what it is, when will you change it back to what it really is, and in which country, and with what supporting docs.?
This, might be a bit on thin ice...

"Really your Honor, I got it from the water header tank support, and there are lots of crayola numbers too, I swear, it's all on f-chat, Dino section ...";)

    Regards, Alberto

It appears, that the body number is 492 on the hinge in the engine bay.
On the water tank support, 197. Very strange.

Mine is 499 and is an L series # 01104

Body-No. 197E seems to be correct for #02516. The hinge of the deck lid comes from another car as the lid itself (see pics).
