I used to be always inside but recently swapped for the hood and broke quite a few records as I can see further. Pro gamers usually drive from the very front but looking at the ghost lap records from other users it seems they're instead driving from completely outside, which doesn't work for me at all. Hood it is for now, with no aids whatsoever and tilt steering with manual acceleration. I'm constantly in the top 10%, B category of the weekly time trials competition. Not that's something to be too proud of. ;)

And I've just lapped LeMans in less than 2:50

If I can sit on the hood or hover behind the car to drive in real life, then why should I do that in the game. In car is the only way to go.....

I've always gone for the whole car view. Lets me see the braking points earlier, and avoid the other cars in corners.

    :D

    No prob Jason.

Anyhow, the trick i've used is to upgrade the car just enough...enough for you to win races, the PR performance, and enough. Sometimes such as the top speed challenge, you do need to upgrade the cars to get the max performance, but it's hardly the case.

Be careful of certain sluggish cars, like the Ford GT and the Porsche CGT. It takes forever to downshift, hence it affects your braking points. Best car so far I would say is the BMW LMS GT2, and the Porsche 918 RSR Concept Racing car.

So far, i've not spent any real money. I'm at the point of the Supercars club.

If you spend the minimum amount to buy the smallest number of gold coins you can, you get rid of all the adverts in the game. I think that's definitely worth the £1.49 I spent. I already had 260 gold coins saved up, so it was all about nuking the adverts. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Tomorrow there's some kind of time trial competition starting for the 919. My aim is to get among the fastest 500

The thing is I can't ever tell when the car is about to oversteer in that view, the inside one instead gets really tricky with fast and low cars as you can see very little. I find the bonnet or the nose ones the best compromise.

What setting do you use to steer the car? Tilting or button?

Gold coins as in actual money? I've spent gold coins for some of the upgrades. When cash is not an option. The damn adverts are still there. And it bloody crashes the game..

Tilting at max sensitivity with manual accelerator and brake. I also removed any kind of assistance, even the slight steering aid. I was among the first 100 for the Kia time trial competition which gave away a trip to Italy with a lap from the high hood.

Spend actual money, real world money such as United States Dollars or Pounds Sterling to buy Gold Coins as an in-app purchase. I spent £1.49 (<$3) to receive a handful of Gold that I didn't care about but also got rid of the adverts (which was the point). Spending the "earned" $R or Gold you receive for playing the game is not what I'm talking about.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    Love this game!
It's the only game on my phone.
I did get the 919 in time and love driving that!
Also saved up $3.2 mil to buy the e-tron at the discounted price when it's unlocked.

Remy, you are absolutely right about the Accolade Open race!
I do this every morning before I go into work. The BMW handles great, but it's not the car I use....918!!

I also kind of like the customization thing you can do.
Only use the basic shapes to save helmets!
    Here's some of my cars..

The 370Z has to be the most utter POS in this game. It's fully upgraded and I still can barely place 3rd in events.

I think the worst is Ford GT. The best so far? The Pagani Hyuara

Turn on airplane mode then play. Also if you put the brakes on the middle setting it will allow you to zoom past the other cars in most spots where the auto brakes would slow you down. You will have to use your brakes now or go off track. It takes a little bit to get use to but makes the game much easier.

Just turn all the assists off completely, then practice actually helps. ;)
