You know, Maclaren are going to have a works engine when Honda comes on board next season...maybe that's Vettel's play if things don't turnaround. After all, does anyone really believe Ferrari will competitive in the next 2-3 years? They adapted poorly the latter years of the just passed era...I think given the history and how they perform today, they just don't have the ability to turn things around..at least not in any timely fashion.

Maybe my point was too subtle. My first sentence said I don't think he is going anywhere. What you quoted was my reasoning. A champion wants to win, I don't think Ferrari have an attractive package at the moment. A case in point is the other threads regarding Ferrari management being a cause of the poor performance.

Ferrari maybe the emotional choice of F1 teams a driver wants to drive and win for. Is it enough? Don't know if Seb has the talent or desire to get Ferrari back on top without Ferrari heading down that track as a focused organisation first...

    Just my point of view.

Au contraire--I'm sure Ferrari can hook him up with way better wine than Red Bull.

As in any other sport, no constructor stays on top forever in F1, though it may not always seem so at the time. Red Bull has had a great run, but with Renault having lost its touch and Newey beginning to wind down his career, it's another team's turn. Ferrari will have a winning car again; history demands it. Vanellope von Schweetz, I mean Seb, knows this and I think we will see him in our car, sooner rather than later if Helmut gives him any more static about "upping his game," like he's supposed to fix a car that RBR's entire engineering staff can't.

Unfortunately, it is no longer about who drives the Ferrari. Ferrari need a leader who either understands F1 or if not who can surround himself with the right technical team and - most importantly - that leader needs to know how to listen.

It is clearly not what is in place today. The result is that factions are created within the team, the atmosphere becomes despicable with blames being passed from one to another and the result is where we are today. Without Fernando, we would be behind pretty much everybody....

Fernando will not last much longer... Remember that Honda is coming....and Ferrari have no feeder system to bring young drivers to the fore (cf Red Bull). The FDA is a complete joke.

Finally, LdM's desire for an Italian team in a globalised world has destroyed the successful structure painstakingly built by Todt and Co over so many years.

Given all of this and the fact that - unlike the past - people no longer want to come and work for Ferrari F1, I would suggest that the current form be enjoyed plentifully because the future is worse....

Ferrari have shown once again an innate ability to take winners and turn them into huge losers at great expense on misplaced ideas...

It is very sad and completely un fathomable but thank goodness there are the GT cars which win to put a smile on our faces!!!

The one thing Ferrari does not need is more money....it needs structure, efficiency and brains. Not money and prima donnas
