I'm not a Ramada man. What's cool?
enaissance, ocean boulevard in long beach, micro brewery just across the road and an excellent hotel. Dave Mcguire
Here's another one I can recommend first hand..... 107 Luxury Suites. Overlooking the Santa Monica Pier. DL
I stayed at the W in Beverly Hills and it was pretty nice. String of Ferraris and Lambos parked out front.
The Regent Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills. It's right on the corner of Wilshire and Rodeo. Although not considered a "hip" place...it's very elegant, in a great location and has a lot of history with it -- including the backdrop for Pretty Woman and where my wife and I got engaged!
The W in Westwood, right next to UCLA, always seems to have a line of cool cars out front, so I suppose it's a hip place. Also, the Viceroy in Santa Monica gets a lot of press....
I give The W Westwood my full endorsement. Beautiful people, awesome hotel but better in summer months. Many celeb. press junkets occur there. Overnight parking will cost you around $11, drinks $8-12 each. You are reasonably close to the strip (go to Asia de Cuba for dinner!) Also try: Mr. Chow, Eurochow, Tengu Sushi all three excellent... but go AdC first it's right next to SkyBar. Have FUN! Nick
Nick, Whoever suggested those to you in the first place should have steered you toward Dan Tana's. Karma, Two things. 107 does weekly rentals ($1000 per). If you are set on Hollywood, another consideration is the Wyndham Bel Age Hotel. All suites with a view and the Brasserie is a great restaurant. DL
Hey Darth- who or what is Dan Tana's? I found all those places in my travel to LA for consulting gigs. Totally forgot to mention my favorite laid back place to grab a beer with buddies though... Q's on wilshire in Westwoods.
Dan Tana's has THE BEST NY steak in LA (Hands down don't listen to the Palm pushers or the Arnie Mortons advocators) Q.s is cool! My offices were a few doors down for 2 years so I know it well. Maybe we played pool there? If not then next time you're out here...there is a drink waiting for you! DL
I've wanted to try Asia de Cuba for a long time, but always decide against it because I've heard some not so good thigns about the service. You sound pretty up about it though But, you MUST go to Katana. It's simply amazing. It's pretty much right across the street from Asia de Cuba, I think. The decor is extremely cool, and the food is EXCELLENT.
Anyone who is a "regular" at Q's is officially in my cool book for life. Man- I have never seen hotties like that at a pool hall before!
The Mondrian on the sunset strip w/the skybar... Great views of LA.. Peninsula down in Beverly Hills, rooftop pool... nice when warm... and centralized.
Style: Luxe, Chateau Marmont, Standard, Maison 140, www.whotels.com, www.elanhotel.com, Mondrian Get laid: L'Ermitage, Regent Beverly Wilshire, Penninsula, 4seasons, Le Montrose, Hotel Bel-Air, Sunset Marquis
I always stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel when I'm in LA. Its an added bonud that you get to see lots of stars there. I saw Joe Namath, Chris Rock, Chevy Chase, Danny Devito, & the guy from Zoolander who's name I always forget. Century Plaza is nice too. thats where the FCA met a few years back Dont forget the Marriot, owned by a fellow Ferrari owner
