Looks like 3400 mile one owner

    Red tan GTS - 95.

    This should be good.

I would be surprised if this doesn't set a record for pricing a 355...

Non-standard radio, painted roof and all that carbon will detract for a perfectionist collector before clarifying if its 3409 just on the current mileometer or the actual mileage

Why would the painted roof detract? Wasn't it a factory option?

I personally wouldn't buy a GTS without it.

I already spoke to them. The odometer does not work. True mileage unknown. Def not 3,400 by their own admission. If this breaks any pricing records it will be for the cheapest car.

Doubt it. Still looks to be a nice car. I bet it still sells in the 60's....

I don't know about that. Two years ago I almost bought a 1999 F1 spider with 6k miles on it form Lam of Palm Beach. The car was in as new condition cosmetically. I forget the original ask but I got involved at $64k. By the time I walked away they were offering the car to me at $55k. They ended up wholesaling the car.

Some of these dealers take these cars in trade, try to make a quick buck, and the dump them if they don't move. They don't want to deal with "old" cars.

    :) :( Undecided on value too? :D

Does look like it could be a decent car though, except for that CF appliques. If it was a coupe I might go for it. Trade my 308QV GTB for a 355 GTB + cash. Heck, the way 308 prices are going I might be cable to get 2 355s for it in a couple of months.

looks nice but how does a "carefully maintained" car have no working odo? how do you value the car if you have no idea what the true mileage is? I suppose you could try to piece it together and get a rough estimate but then you'll need to explain it to the next owner if you ever decide to sell...seems like a tough one

Well the mileage unknown is a problem. I guess I missed that part. So I guess it will not sell for an extraordinary price. It does look very low mileage in its condition.

The carbon fiber stuff is also a turn off but fixable.

Weird, "**Please call our sales department for additional details, and explanation regarding the odometer discrepancy listed on Carfax. We have all the service records to back up the odometer replacement at the Ferrari dealer completed a few years back.** "

If that is true there should be a sticker on the door jamb indicating the mileage when the odometer was replaced. 3400 would seem the be the miles since replacement as if the new odometer can not be set to the correct value it must be set to zero and the door sticker applied. So, why not state the data? Probably because that 3400 miles is an attention getter. People don't read the complete listing and bid thinking it's a a 3.4k mile car. Not O.fraud, but hardly truth in advertising, IMO.

I send an ebay question asking for mileage on service docs at time of odometer replacement.

For some reason, it's not on the dealer's website?

Surely if your speedo breaks and needs to be replaced it is possible to set the mileage on the new one to match the old one?

With some kind of official documentation as well I can't see the problem?

I understand that but I carefully maintain my car and if the odo is broken, it will get fixed...

Doesn't anyone read? The add says the odo was replaced. See my previous post.

Not on dealer web? That's not unusual. These dealers aren't interested in selling $50-$60k cars. It's not a draw to the people they want in their dealership. They are dumping it on ebay. I bet if they don't get their reserve they wholesale the car.

Two years ago I almost bought a 1999 F1 spider with 6k miles from Lam of Palm Beach. Car was cosmetically as new. Needed a major and the PPI indicates about another $8K in other stuff. I passed on the car. But, I forget the original ask. I got interested when they dropped the price to $64k., had a deal for $58k. By the time the PPI came back they were down to $55k but I walked because I decided I didn't want the F1. Dealer then wholesaled the car.

John, I get it but you can't compare that car to a red/tan GTS. These are rare and what many are looking for...

Dave, a Lamborghini dealer does give a rats ass about what the car is. All they care about is cash flow. They aren't collectors. They most likely took the car in trade for $35-$45k (real dollars) and just want to get out from under it. If they can't flip it fast (hence ebay) they will sell it off to someone who doesn't mind waiting for the right buyer. At least that's my guess.

And let me tell you that spider I passed on was also a special car. Very rare color with Fiorano brake package. Truly as new. Car was wholesaled to a dealer in AZ, serviced and listed for $85k and sold within a month. Lam of Palm Beach just wanted to flip it fast.

Heck, most Ferrari dealers don't want a 355 on the lot. It's too old to make any money on.

Hey, Wade. Don't mine me. Some times, after reading too many posts on FChat, I hit the tipping point. :)

Up to $54,888 and reserve has been met. I guess it will sell. So reserve was probably around $50+k. Close to what I figured. Now let's see where it goes.

In response to my question they said they will post copy of docs.

Just spoke to dealer. They are working to gather the records to get the actual milage. They are looking to get $59K for the car. He said I'm the 6th person that called.

My guess is that it's gone by the end of the week.

Poor practice to list it as a 3,400 mile car if they clearly knew it was not in my opinion.

Sharp looking car though, will likely find a happy home.
