I would love to see someone put that into a 911.

This engine seems to have no place in this universe is the problem. I cannot imagine an original chassis-correct F40 engine not being rebuilt unless it were blown to bits and beyond rebuilding.

What a great conversation piece that at some point can be put to use. I wonder what price he is looking for?

He bought a load of brand new engines direct from Ferrari, kept them in crates for 24 years?
This guy needs to get on an episode of "high class hoarders!"

given sherpa's experience for example, if you had the engine, you could essentially build a brand new f40, and it would be a very effective car. for the guy with the right set up this is a deal.

Sitting for 24 years in Ohio? Could be damaged from humidity and temperature variations.

I'm actually the seller...and a bit of a hoarder, but at least the engines have always been stored in a proper climate controlled warehouse. Next up for sale after the engines will be a mid 80's Alfa powered F3 race car that was purchased in the late 80's and never really used by me. That makes having a new F40 engine seem normal...well, almost. I sold my Testarossa through FerrariChat a few years ago, maybe I'll use it again to list the engines and race car...because of Ebay monthly dollar limits, I'm only able to list one engine at a time.

Quite amazing. It really is. Hats off to the seller!

Even though, after 24 years I'd think it would need to be freshened up
