It s just a question of esthetique. Ferrari is not a question of speed for many of them.

Ferrari clearly think that performance is very important for their halo car. For those not bothered, they also offer the California.

Not really. Even the LF makes compromises for comfort and usability. If the LF isn't a spider, it's most likely just a business and design decision.

It's not only this. It's about more weight and generally more of everything!

It is a road car so it has to be driveable. But chopping the roof off introduces uneccessary compromises.

chopping the roof off a carbon tubbed car doesn't make a whole lotta difference...

Says who? There are quite a few CGT and 918 buyers who would beg to differ about the merits of a removable roof, and both of those cars might just be higher performance than the Enzo and LF, respectively.

    ^ This.

IIRC, many comparisons between the McLaren 12C Convertible and the 458 Spider were in McLaren's favor, and that was because they use a carbon monocoque. The rigity of the chassis doesn't rely as heavily (if at all) on the roof.

The Carrera GT and the Pagani Zonda Roadster are prime examples of this. The F50 was pretty good for its time too.

There are owners that track their cars. There is no need to add weight. Ferrari has said that the targa F50 was a mistake and Luca always preferred the car with the hardtop on.

The Enzo was clearly the faster car: http://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/porsche_carrera_gt-vs-ferrari_enzo.html
I am also willing to bet that the LaFerrari will be considerably faster than the 918.

And so you included a contradictory link why?

CGT was quicker on 3/5 of the laps they have for both cars. The Enzo had more power and tq, yet only pulled ahead at speed approaching 300kph.

Don't know the source of these numbers, but there is nothing clear about it with respect to the Enzo being superior. All I see is a car with a true manual transmission, worse power/weight, and a supposedly major compromise of removeable top, being pretty much even in a straight line up to reasonable speeds and quicker on 3/5 tracks shown.

Worst case the comparison is a draw. Guess the removeable top wasn't much of a compromise...

Resale be damned, what is best spec?
And for best resale/maximum liquidity what is the best spec?

    Let me have a go:

resale be damned - blu tdf with matching roof, cioccolato interior, titanium wheels, red calipers
resale - rosso corsa/black roof, silver wheels, red calipers, black/red interior
