I see. Thanks for clearing that up.

Kubica is obviously an enormous talent, that rally
crash was tragic on so many levels.

Got to love a guy who uses the phrase "funnily enough".

I though that it was limited to my family.

His sensitivity to a less than perfect car is more than apparent. That and I think he is not nearly as 'ice' as we think. Frankly he is probably very very sensitive to the press given his utter denial of it. The more he struggles the more obvious this all is.
I wish him the best but he utterly failed at dealing with Massa and the Ferrari last time title not withstanding. He is not a good fit at the team and LdM was grasping for something to ignite the fire in the team. Problem is its not and has not been the drivers at all. The car is a 5th place car without FA or worse.

No word at all of Ron Dennis going after Kimi at all. Speaks volumes.

Bianchi seems to be getting more out of the Malrussia ( ;) ) than Kimi is out of the Ferrari.

No word on him going after Vettel, Ricciardo, Rosberg, Hulkenberg, Perez, Bottas, Massa, Grosjean, Sutil, or even Button either! - So what's your point?

Kimi had a respectable record with the team. A quite simple point and we don't hear about Kimi being in demand do we?

Even if that´s true, don´t forget that the job of a driver is not only driving.

He seems to be in demand at Ferrari! - They don't appear to be too desperate to get rid of him!

Perhaps Ron realises that Kimi has absolutely no interest whatsoever in ever going back to McLaren! - After all, In 5 years at McLaren they failed to get him a single WDC!

Ferrari on the other hand made his dream come true in his first year with them!

And there's far more kudos and reward in driving for Ferrari than there ever will be in driving for McLaren! - I suspect Kimi kinda likes that!

I assume this is about Kimi not wanting to do much PR. They agreed which each others terms, Kimi does all the PR stipulated in his contract and that's it.

    +1

Ron really has always wanted his drivers to do lots of PR, he knows Kimi will never want to do that much. Kimi also doesn't fit in with Ron's ''corporate image'', the wearing of suits, haircuts that he has to approve, the whole general image of the driver. Kimi has made enough money in his life to not care to work for a dictator who berates him for just about anything he enjoys doing (drinking, smoking, hairstyle, tattoos...need I go on?).

Kimi has very recently (silverstone) said he's very happy with Ferrari but he's annoyed that he can't drive the car as he wants (stipulating the fact that he needs something very specific and they're now working on it) and Ferrari understands that. Ferrari knew that from their previous engagement too, so perhaps for them this is not a big surprise? He likes working with Ferrari and presumably they like him otherwise they won't throw 20 million at him (+ bonus, although that's likely not a big one this year :().

Well, I´m not talking only about PR BS, but about the work with the engineers, the simulator, etc... Even in this times of limited testing, driving is not only pushing the pedals.

I'm with you on the simulator (although I read somewhere recently he has spent time in the simulator recently).

He does actually spend time with the engineers, one of the reasons why the Lotus didn't fall so far behind is because of the excellent feedback he provided, and most likely one of the reasons why he was hired by Ferrari again. All teams/engineers he's worked with all say the same thing: Excellent feedback.

My personal opinion, particularly after Kimi's admission that he will probably retire at the end of his contract, is that Ferrari have already told him that that will be the end. And they are most likely gearing Bianchi up to be his replacement at that time - unlike McLaren Ferrari doesn't like hiring rookies, and likes to let them "grow up" elsewhere (Massa being case in point).

Once Raikkonen sorts himself and the car out I'm sure he'll become a more consistent points scorer, which is exactly the reason Ferrari brought him on. I'll completely agree though that his start to this season has been quite poor, and he does need to turn it around.

Given the current car's characteristics I don't think he'll ever be able to drive it as fast as Alonso as it's so far from his driving style, but he needs to be bringing it in just behind him. The gap is just too big at the moment.

To be honest though Kimi looked quite fired up at Silverstone, shame it ended so fast :)
