Just a quick FYI to 550/575 owners wanting to replace TPMS sensors. I had a clients car come in with the normal symptoms of dead sensors (2002 575M). Ferrari dealer list price locally is approximately $310 each. Usually order BERU's online as per TAZ's many helpfull posts but my usual supplier were out of the specific BERU's that are required. Noticed that the same BERU sensor was also specified for 2002-2006 Mercedes models. On a whim called the local Benz dealer and the OEM Mercedes sensors are $103 each, only slightly more than the BERU ordered online and was available locally.

    Mercedes Part# 005-542-24-18

Point of this long story....Mercedes has recently halved their price on the sensor that happens to be equivalent to the ones required for the 550/575. Might be another usefull source to those who want to purchase locally.....as near as the closest MB dealer.

Whoo, that is good news. A 575M owner just got stuck for $1200 for new sensors from his FNA dealer.

Assume you have installed them and they work? Already incorporated that bit of info into the TPMS document.

Sure did, even though everything on paper told me they would work there was still a little bit of held breath until they calibrated. Was a good excuse to go for a drive though.

Reviving thread. Will these work in a 612?

I think TPMS sensors have dropped drastically in price over the last two years. I think OEM 612 Huff Berus can be had for under $400 a set, with off brands for ~$150/set.

Honestly, unless the 612 reports individual TirePressures, put in a system that will and use a screen or smartphone to read and alert.

Remembered your putting back to stock to sell the 612. In that case, the OEM sensors are prohibitive and render your car worthless. I will, however, be kind enough to tow it away at my expense.

Bob- Looks like the early 612s used the same sensors as the 575M. Not sure about the later models. TireRack is another good source and here is one source saying they are 433.9 MHz instead of 315 MHz like US 575Ms.

They have to be programmed for the car though, right? So this idea of buying MB parts doesn't end up requiring them to be reflashed? At the price point of the aftermarket sets I've found, definitely appears to not be worth the hassle.

Bob- Read my edit above. No, the Huf-Beru sensors can be set up completely by the owner or by a tech using an SD3, makes no difference if they are Mercedes or Ferrari. One requires a drive and the tech doing it does not. Instructions in your owners manual.
