One of the few factory fitted options on the car, the leather roof lining. It cleaned up like new, not a mark on it... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, a very popular conversion in the late 80s. I did one myself, a fine engine that was to. I manages to get a twin plenium from a vitesse V8, my block was a 3.9 cross block (ex janspeed) also with large valve heads from Peter Burges. Some parts were bought from J E Eales (JE Developments) Way back a friend of mine wrote two books about tuning this famous engine (David Hardcastle). I wonder were he is now. The Mk 1 was a car i wished i kept, yours looks great mate. What are your specs on that bad boy.

i have over polished them before refitting them! I also further investigated the window runner brace, that you previously mentioned break. it turns out i have a crack in mine, so going to MIG weld it before it snaps completely. Thanks for the heads up. cheers Mark
Its so nice to be refitting parts rather than taking them off!!!! I have started to do the clean-up and refit of the interior. Rear window area, seat belt covers, ecu covers and glove box all back in place and looking sharp! I also fitted the new driver-side seat belt i found on ebay a while back. hi, i cleaned all the black leather area of the dash, a small amount of glue needed around the edge of the airbag hole, but other than that all is in good shape. Bottom cream leather section refitted. 3 clock instrument binnacle refitted after SNM treatment, all clocks checked for light and function. Ready for new audio system to be fitted - still undecided as to what route to take. Main binnacle and steering wheel all cleaned up, still want a F360 steering wheel, but in no rush. I am leaving all the air vents out for the moment, until the audio system is fitted - ease of access and i may upgrade the speakers and tweeters etc. cheers Mark Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I cleaned the inside of the gear change gate, bit of a messy job after years of grease and dust, polished the gate and refitted. I removed the Hill Engineering pedals, gave them a good clean and polish and refitted them. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great thread Mark - really appreciating what you're doing with the car. Thanks for posting. Quick question - re; the plastic quadrants on the inside of the doors by the mirrors that you painted - what did you use my boy ?. You mentioned it was a "textured plastic paint" but which one ?. I need to do this on my car as they are a bit scruffy so would appreciate a steer. Keep it coming !!! Cheers
Hi, this is the stuff i use here, it is fantastic: MASTERTEX PLASTIC TEXTURE FINISH TEXTURED AEROSOL PAINT | eBay
Hi I made a template of the boot floor a while back, to get a mat made up (earlier in the thread). The new mat arrived today from the ever helpful team at morethanpolish. Got to say i am absolutely delighted and as always the fit is absolutely perfect! note: the carpet shell is not back in the car yet, but you can see the fit is great.
