I just saw on the BBC that another Malaysian airline went down near Russia. mh17 Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur Anyone else have any info?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/ukraine/10974050/Malaysian-plane-crashes-on-Ukraine-Russia-border-live.html Sky News Newsdesk ✔ @SkyNewsBreak Update - Ukrainian Interior Ministry adviser: Malaysian plane was brought down by a ground-to-air missile & all 295 people on board are dead 11:38 AM - 17 Jul 2014 Holy Crap.
I also saw that a Ukrainian su-25 was shot down just a couple of hours prior, just miles from this incident. Wonder if it was retaliation for that and they thought it was a military jet?
Ukrainian Interior Ministry adviser: Malaysian plane was brought down by a ground-to-air missile & all 295 people on board are dead Well ****. If this is true then I can see some not so good things happening quite soon.
Majority of people on board where dutch, allegedly. UIM claiming it was likely a ground to air missle fired by seperatists
It's unlikely that rebels operate such a sophisticated SAM. The Ukrainian claim that it is a BUK missile. How do they know unless it's one of theirs? The 777 flying from E to W apparently went down 50 or 60 km W of the Russian border. I suspect it might be another tragic mistake by the Ukrainians? I believe the crash site isn't sterile... The investigation will be a nightmare. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks. Having checked out a BUK on wiki, their range is insufficient to have come from russia or the border where the rebels ''operate''. On top of that, with the Ukrainian fighter jet that has been shot down it could well have been a retaliation that turned into a tragic mistake.
Passagier MH17 plaatst foto van vliegtuig voor vertrek | Binnenland | Telegraaf.nl Very sad picture this. Passenger of the plane uploaded it just before boarding, captioning ''If it disappears, this is what it looks like''.
Apparently debris is spread over a 9 mile stretch, that would confirm breaking up in the air correct? Reuters is reporting 23 americans were on board
First footage of smoke plume also shows the glitter of smaller debris filling the sky and an odd sight of 4 long streamers of something drifting down. Obviously a violent breakup in flight.

Just a warning, there *were* some very graphic photos on this twitter feed of dismembered passengers that he has since taken down, including a dead child still strapped into their seat... not sure if more will show up. The feed owner apparently was at the crash site. https://twitter.com/MatevzNovak
it looks kind of like this whole was opened from the outside http://static5.businessinsider.com/image/53c80241ecad04130ba32dbe-1200-924/rtr3z2lt.jpg could be where a missile penetrated the fuselage?
Well, there you have it... Rebel Leader in Leaked Audio: 'Cossacks' Shot Down the Plane It appears that it was shot down by some trigger happy Russian rebels.
The weapon used was sophisticated enough that it had to come from a government, be it Russia or Ukraine. Did they supply it to the rebels? Was it stolen? If so, not just anyone can turn it on and learn how to use it on the fly.
