Looks like a properly restored car, right down to proper suspension paint markings. Good job. The countach is a car that is very difficult to restore.

THANKS for noticing :) Everyone thinks I am crazy to copy the factory "graffitti" on parts that are so nice and clean... Yes, some things HAVE to be put back after a complete overhaul and refinish for the sake of authenticity.

We now have the car on its wheels, and will be moving it into the mechanical shop to install the engine/gearbox this weekend.. Then the final assembly and sorting can begin :)

Hey Michael, the results are stunning! Glad to see it progressing so nicely. I savour the ride you gave me prior to the restoration! Thank you! I'll never forget it! The car was awesome then, and perfect now, better than new!

I am repeatedly amazed at how incredible this looks, even though it is still incomplete. It really reinforces how ingenious Gandini's original design was.

Fantastic to look at. Michael your Countach is an amazing example, and setting the bar high for a correct restoration.

That's one seriously big lump of metal I see being squeezed into a car that's not really that big to begin with!
I wouldn't have any fingernails left watching such a delicate operation.

Why aren't you removing the rear bulkhead insert when installing the engine?

That would require a saw.

I have the opinion that a saw is not needed as part of this job, as the bulkhead is made removable by the factory.
The center part of the bulkhead is just bolted in.

As many times as I have seen these giant hearts being planted back into this body I continue to be blown away each and every time. It never gets old for me. What an amazing sense of purpose and dedication has gone into this careful restoration.

Seems like they should have used drilled, slotted rotors.

^This is good old school race car technology. Drilled rotors have a tendency to crack a lot under track stress. Yes, I know it will never see a track...

My car is on a lift, but IIRC the tubes of the frame pass thru the area you are talking about.
