You can put in an order via the mail order form link on the front page. Send them an email telling them you want to reserve a GTO kit. It will be available on August 20th. I think the GTO will be around $800.00-$1000.00 for the kit based on the 1/12th scale 917LH price wich was less but also not as detailed.

Several dealers also carry Hiro kits around the world.

    Beautiful kit from this preview!

Two questions on the engine hood:

One - I assume that assembled it will fit better than that?

Two - does the kit include the hood without the big scoop and the smaller non-scoop hood blister?

They have two version, one with the cold air induction hood scoop and one with the warm air induction hood bump. The photos show the prototype with the hood just layed on top for the photo. They should have hood hinges on the model.

Thank you - as you are on top of this, why not post a look at the wheels and tires when that becomes available.

EDIT - I just went back and had a look at this car with the blister-style hood in the Winston Goodfellow book, and it does not have the triangular depression on the bodywork just ahead of the hood itself. Guess that could be filled in for the other version.

Here are the wire wheels and Dunlop tires. The wires are cast very crisply it seems so that they could be cast as one part together with the rim in several spoked layers. The outside edge is machined. It seems to work as long as the casting quality is very high!!

The triangular depression will have a small door over it. All the 64's I have seen have the little door in front of the hood but most pics I have are of the LM cars from 64. The bulged hood car from LM64 had the door. Not exactly sure what it was used for, maybe access to fill the radiator.

I think that door is on standard GTO's as well and also on the 330LMB.

I am truly looking forward to this kit. One of my favorite cars, and with all the versions offered, well........ I might be forced to buy two kits!!

Tom, thanks for keeping us all updated on this, and all the other kits you track.

I hope they also do the 1962/1963 body GTO's along with the 1963 250 GTO/LMB as they have the same chassis and motor.

Well, I want this thing very badly. Badly enough to pay $1,000 for the kit.

However, to be honest with myself, I would have to budget for it to be professionally built to do it justice.

That's what I'm thinking. How in the world to find someone qualified to build and at what cost?

Man, working engine! I hope they made moving parts out of the metal that is stronger than white metal, or this thing won't run for long. But uber cool.

I don't think it "runs" (in the sense of actual internal combustion) - but the internal parts have been made to rotate.

Maybe I am talking myself out of the above notions of reality. This might be worth having even if you never built it.

BTW - the picture with the aluminum hood has answered my criticism of the urethane hood part fit.
