In my 1990 ts, it's blank, with no "switching" action.

In the wiring diagram (fig 7) it's shown as an "Available Switch" (item 165).

Wade I just was going to also post the same wiring diagram and listed as an Available Switch in my 1991 348 TB.

Son-of-a-gun. YES, it does work! Key in or out. I never noticed or used that button before.

Now, my dome light is a little flaky. Doesn't always work when the door is open. But when it is cooperating, the button does work.
Oh, and you need to position the dome light into the mode where it opens on door. Of course off, and the switch wont work and on...well you can't tell :)

Just tried out the switch in my 91 348TB.
It does work, turns to Dome Light on and off when the door is closed.

I don't remember that the switch did anything when i tried it with the ignition on or off or with the doors open or closed either.

Its at the dealers now getting a new remote alarm system fitted so I will take another look when i get it back.

Funny how some cars have it and others don't, yet all the owners manuals say its unused (spare).

    Cheers.

This switch is for the interior light.

Check the bulb and/or the fuse if your I interior light is not working after pressing this switch.

Hi, both interior lights work when i turn them on by their relevant switches next to them on the roof (the courtesy light and the dome light).

However the switch next to the shifter has no effect at all whether the ignition is on or off either. Strange but i have that switch:)

Correct, there are switches located right next to the lights, but this switch also controls an interior light. When I get home in a few days I will take a closer look and report back here.

On the 355 the switch will appear to do nothing if the light is in (IIR) the center position. The overhead light can be moved into either of 3 positions, and depending upon the position the light fixture is in the bulb will illuminate either by the doors opening, or the switch, or always on (I think when the light faces the cabin).

    Check your owner's manual.

The owners manual says it's unused, doesn't mention it functions at all.
    Thanks.

I found my 94 TS SS with the upper rear interior light on one day last week and it was that switch. I pushed it when I was trying to get the #$*&^*%@ gas door to open the day before and hit it my mistake. Luckily I had the battery tender on so it didn't drain the battery.
