But.... but... Alonso has outdriven the car every year! Made miracles happen! If not for Alonso, Ferrari would probably be slugging it out with Caterham!

And anybody who says the driver does not have any bearing on developing the car because there's no testing... well... that might be true if he were new to the team, but if he's been around for years.... that's literally 7-8 hours of 'testing' every race weekend.....

Alonso: because helping the team win or my teammate score more points is not as important as making sure people think I'm God.

He's had them before. I think he had 2 operations, once when at sauber and once a few years later after a huge crash during testing with Mclaren.

It's been talked about ad infinitum over the last 6 months; Kimi needs something very specific from the car and Ferrari are working on it. Sadly it's not as simple as bolting on a different front wing to make it more responsive.

Ferrari know exactly what he needs (they knew this when they hired him again) and didn't deliver as of yet.

Their strategy are nothing less than appalling too...Sundays race for instance, driving with a damaged front wing (this tires get worked harder) he did quite good for a bit with new tires, but when they went off he requested another pitstop but that took 3-5 laps to finally come, apparently having to resort to shouting to finally get a pitstop. He was losing 2-3 seconds a LAP in this time.

The Ferrari is not a great car, but it seems to suit Alonso relatively well. On top of that, he is Alonso, who is quite well known for his ability to drive a broad variety of ''styles'' so suit the car. Very few can do this.

Back in 2012 when Ferrari introduced their pull rod front suspension, both drivers had a tough time setting it up and get to grips with the system. He's had 2.5 seasons of experience with this tough to set up suspension (the set up range is incredibly narrow). Now, with electronic braking and ERS harvesting, it's likely even tougher.

So a number of things are affecting Kimi, but he's certainly not become **** overnight as some people are hoping (interesting, most of the negative comments are from people who have expressed their dislike for him before this season; which is fine, but their dislike is clouding their judgement).

agree 100%. Not to mention all the people here worshipping alonso may be forgetting he's been looking for a chance to jump ship the past two years. Christain horner basically said he was begging him for the second seat in the red bull last season.
