Durian fruit, smelled like road kill and tasted like butter scotch.

Friend ate bull penis at a restaurant in NYC called Kenka.

I had jellyfish last summer at a Chinese restaurant....tasteless, really. They use it to add texture to dishes more than anything.

Santiago…That's very interesting! I would have guessed that the rodent (paca) would be chewy/stringy and the pig-like tapir would be less so. How were they prepared, if you don't mind me asking?…T

Tom, both were prepared quite a bit like venison, i.e. roasted with sweet fruity sauces. Paca is one of the best meats I have tasted!

Mmmmmm!!! Back in Illinois, I used to grill up baby octopus at least every other week. Delicious, and available fresh at the local Italian grocery store for under $4/lb.

Back in the 60's a local grocery chain had tins of smoked whale meat next to the sardines and smoked oysters. Had a taste and texture not unlike corned beef.
