Agree totally! He is losing World Championships, races, opportunities, and foremost very valuable time. But guys, let's be optimistic, the supremacy of RB is definitely over, which is something we would not have imagined a year ago. So, I bet LdM is gonna have some spicy talk with JT. He's gonna make him an offer he can't and won't refuse...:D Formula 1 regulations need a 180° turn anyway.... And the Scuderia will be the first one to profit from it. I hope...

I don't think he's slow in the wet, in fact from time to time he even puts a great performance in such conditions....on the other hand, he also crashes from time to time in the same conditions:) i would give him an average+...far from being a Vettel or hamilton in the rain...

Agree that F1 regs need a 180 (well...mostly the engine and fueling regs), but doubt Ferrari will be the first one to profit.

For all their facilities, experience and influence, they do a remarkably **** job during big rule changes.

2006 the biggest rule change was basically an engine, and they did ok
2009 was the first big rule change and we know how they did (horrid)
2014 was a huge rule change, and they're still absolutely nowhere. 1 podium from 9 races, and 2 drivers of immense caliber.

So banking it all on a big rule change is not advisable ;).

As were his pole positions in the wet at Hockenheim and Silverstone the same year?

Alonso is brilliant in the rain.

EDIT: Hrelja beat me to it! :D

Btw, thanks to whichever mod corrected the spelling of Freds name in the thread title! ;)

Some may consider some of us 'silly' with our nicknames/acronyms on occasion, but if you're going to use their real names, at least spell them right before taking offense at our silliness. ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Yeah so what is your point exactly? Alonso has raced F1 for 14 years and has had two crashes in the rain? Just stop.

The Button thing was a racing incident, but yes it was wet. What were his crashes at Monaco? Are you counting the one he had in practice a couple years back? I can't ever remember Alonso crashing in the race at Monaco (of course he has also won it twice which is tied for the most among active drivers).
