Paul, Now all you need to compliment that brown trim is these floor mats with the brown lettering to tie everything all together (pardon my own shill) http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-parts-collectibles/455582-308-floor-mats.html#post143266854
I like the color though I don't think I'd actually own one. FWIW, I reside in Plymouth (as does the car in question) but I have never seen it.
Many years ago a friend of mine offered me his 308GTSi, it was in gold with tobacco interior... Thinking about replacing my 230 SLK daily driver and sort of accidentally ran across a GTSi that needs a little love. Had my gt4 at a good paint shop when a guy waiting said he had a Ferrari and wanted to know if I knew anyone who was interested in buying... Car runs good but needs a full service and the owner doesn't want to spend what it will cost. Also, car has metric wheels and needs tires. I drove the car to and from work (50+ miles) and really liked it. It is gold but has beige interior...
Thanks BigTex, I just finished rebuilding all four calipers, rear brake hoses, carbon/kevlar pads, front wheel bearings, races and seals [PMB performance brakes are my hero]. It started as a fluid leak at the passenger rear caliper and sort of turned into a full caliper service. I had the booster and master rebuilt when I first brought the car home so I have now done the entire system, save the front hoses. Next up is the suspension refurb. While I am doing that I'll swap out those front hoses. At that point the car will be as it was delivered from the factory, except for the Birdman fuseblock Ciao, Paul
Actually the carpets are hand made from Wilton wool and the trim is from the same leather as the seats, which yields a very nice tie into the carpets. I really like the way the carpets compliment the leather dash and armrests and match the seats and piping. The smell in the cockpit is intoxicating. Nothing like the smell of new leather/wool on a hot day in Houston
Roger103, Mustardfj40, davew, Thanks for your appreciative comments. It has been a lot of work over the past 4 years to get her to this stage of restoration, but well worth it. Keeping her at this level should be easier now. Ciao, Paul
Congrats on a beautiful 308 ! Here's the 2000's version - this is a 'one off' unveiled at Cavallino Classic a few years ago. I think the owner's father started cable TV.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
