It was clear as water this was a hoax. How can they ban it? And the wording was clearly done by some british clown.

That's exactly why. He cant charge everyone, yet we all can access it (more or less legally).

I am sure they are working on something that eventually will make him money.

    Indeed.
What does it say about the state of the sport that so many involved with it assumed it was true?

    :)

    Did they though?

Apart from the tweet (or whatever it was?) that Bas posted, I haven't seen any other reports on it.... Maybe there were & quickly deleted, but a brief pause to engage brain says it's exactly the same as trying to, eg, ban the letter "Q" or whatever!

    Cheers,
    Ian

I was referring to Bas' observation about F1 journos.

    Understood.

Not the sharpest knives in the block it would seem.

A couple of F1 Journo's/Jokers I follow shared it; some that where there saw the initial shock on the faces of journos. Probably believe it for 10 seconds, then think it's can't be true.

I think that's what they where referring to, their initial WTF moment.

I can see that.... My limited experience with journo's suggests they're all pretty hung over first thing and seeing such a release through the haze would give them pause...... Particularly if someone was there who was in on the whole thing to encourage them a little..... ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

I think because the screenshot of the FIA site got shown to them they really thought it was official.

Who ever thought of the joke, 10 points to you! Had a lot of people fooled (even if only briefly :D).
