Hello Radio Pilot, Do you still replace the plastic clock face on 308's? If so, what is the best way to communicate with you to get a quote? Thank you, Craig
I wanted to chime in that NIck helped me me out too and did a fantastic job ascertaining which of the three circuit boards my clock had to repair it! And was totally reasonable. Way to go! Highly recommend!!
Had similar situation in my recent conversion. The tach expects an analog type signal but the new ignition system puts out a digital pulse steam. Could be the initial pulse edge bumps the tach at startup but then the tach no longer responds. I solved my issue with a new tach driver board made by Alhbin here on fchat. His board if designed for this situation. Do a search on his name to find the links using Tapatalk
I have two spare clocks, for my cars...no idea of they run...supposed to. Owners take them out, to mount Voltmeters...
Veglia clock 24 3062 (113047) seeking the time adjustment gear that is on the time adjustment shaft. Mine is stripped.
I use Moebius Synt-A-Lube for my pocket watches (blue) and (car) clocks (red). One US supplier as an example: http://www.ofrei.com/page246.html
I will give them a try...........I hope you had success with them , no luck in what I'm using Thanks,
Anyone know how to remove the Clock? I see the comments about removing the small console. Is the Center Console in 2 pieces, the Front with the Clock and the Oil Temp Gauge, and the Rear Console with all the rest, Gearshift, Switches, etc. I am sure I can take it out a bit at a time, but I was hoping someone could tell me where to start. Thanks guys!
Just loosen the two tiny screws in the leather covered bezel holding the gauge and clock and carefully pull and wiggle. Out it comes. From there it is obvious what to do next.
Thanks a lot! I did not get any answers, so I pulled it out this weekend. I pulled out the whole Center Console, Front piece and the Main Rear Console. It was a little difficult to say the least but with my wife's help we got it done! I had to loosen the Handbrake off the tunnel in the end so we could slip the Main Console over the Gearshift, but... it's done now, and I am glad I did. I can now re-dye the Center Console like I did with my seats. I will use Leatherique again as I am very happy with how the seats turned out. I have already gone over the Console with Lacquer thinner and removed all the excess paint. Just that made a huge improvement. I have applied the Leatherique Rejuvenator and bagged all the parts in plastic bags for a couple of days. I will post pictures of the finished product when I am done. Thanks for letting me know about the 2 screws, but I did try that and the damn trim did not want to budge. I was afraid I would break something, so I ended up taking the whole console out only to find what you said to be correct. But...?!!!
So back to my original question!!! How do I get in touch with "Radiopilot"? I have sent him a message. Does anyone know if he still repairs the clocks? If not, are there any other suggestions? Thanks again!!!
If you don't have any luck reaching Radiopilot, call Palo Alto Speedometer. As I posted in this thread previously, they fixed the clock in my 78 308GTS, as well as the clock and tach in my 87 328 GTS. All work was satisfactory, and reasonably quick (though this was 12+ years ago).
Has anyone found a "replacement" for Radiopilot yet? Everyone I spoke to quoted over $350 to service and repair the clock, Is that right?
IIRC, I believe he said he was "going off the air" quite some time back. There was no stated anticipated date/time for his return. Just one of those F-Chat Mysteries.
Hi all. If you haven't seen it, this thread covers bezel removal on these clocks... It was helpful to me so I'm sure it will be to others. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/290507-308-clocks.html Cheers. Mark.
