Definitely. I think he'll be in the top 6 maybe, but not on the podium. He's fast yes, but like i said, not a good passer like Lewis. In fact, i think i can go out and say that Lewis is the best passer out there.

Well he is so often in a position needing to pass a boatload of cars that he'd better be.
    ;)

A driver who wins championships with a few spectacular wins will always be more popular than one who does it with a string of consistently high placings.

What's fascinating this year is seeing which style will take home the title. The tortoise or the hare?

You mean luck taking home the title? That would be a real shame...

Nico is slightly harder on tyres and less fuel efficient than lewis despite being slower. Lewis is harder on the brakes because he brakes later (makes him the best passer on the grid and he has perhaps the most raw talent).

The bottom line is that trained engineers have investigated the failures and absolved lewis of any fault. If it were Lewis's driving style that caused the failures, with a world championship at stake, don't you think he would've changed it by now? The evidence goes against your theory...

It's the teams job to give the driver a good car. It's the drivers job to drive it fast: lewis is doing his bit...

I think that can go either way and just hope that it's not decided by the double points abomination.

The tortoise has always won more WDC's before.

Brabham, Stewart, Lauda and Prost ... all tortoises and all multiple champions

The hare makes the sport interesting and will grab more pole positions but they don't usually come out on top. Most tortoises though started out as hares and then matured, that is why I consider LH's first lap mistake silly ... but saying that racing in the rain is a bit of a lottery and I've had my fair share of racing offs in the rain :D ... but I'm not a F1 driver.

+1 consistency is a powerful force. Nico has this and is fairly cool mentally. Its a great battle with 2 types of fast drivers. I consider them both to be fast and capable. What more could you want in a WDC contest. Well done to Mercedes and both drivers this year. Its a good year for F1 overall.

I've posted the Webber VS Vettel failure statistics so many times I can't be bothered to bring it up again, but you're wrong. Webber didn't have that many more failures than Vettel between 2009 and 2013 (all their years together). Vettel also lost FAR many more points.

    -

Rosberg had 3 car failures last year, Lewis none. Where does your conspiracy go on that front? I've asked multiple times but no answer as of yet...

D just one question, do you think if Nico had suffered Hamilton's reliability issues, you would still feel he would have a cool head.

Because IMO, I believe they both spit there dummies out depending who has the upper hand.

But yes agreed a great contest between the two..;)

To be honest taking into account his DNF's (driver unrelated)<yes debatable, but IMO highly negligible, I consider he has been very successful to still be in the hunt for a WDC.

He wouldn't be a happy camper fersure but I don't think that his driving style would change that much. Its speculation so who can say?

What conspiracy? In fact you helped me prove my point. I've been arguing that Lewis's car failures were bad luck and not down to driving style and by a comparison to last years season you helped prove that.

I don't think there is a conspiracy. Though at moments I wonder and joke around. Furthermore, if there were a conspiracy it wouldn't matter if nico had more retirements last year. Teams can chance who they support from year to year. After all, mclaren used to love button a lot more than they do now.

Anyway; I've still been waiting for you to admit that if hamilton had only 1 reliability issue like rosberg that he would be far ahead in the standings and secondly that hamilton is the far superior passer but you've dodged my arguments since like page 2
