Enjoying my '97 550, but am really worried about finding a shop able to service the car when the time comes (which it undoubtedly will). Any suggestions? I really don't want to have to take the car 300 miles for routine servicing.

Depending on just how " West " you are , we have several clients cars that come in for service from West Texas!

Maybe we could , when/if needed, schedule it so that you could share transport cost, which would make it way reasonable...

    Just a thought.

    LMK if we can help,

    Steve

You're better off shipping the car to someone that is certified or authorized rather than having some local in your area that has none or very little experience with certain techniques with these cars. Not worth the headache, I've seen a local gas station destroy Mondial values just because of guessing.

Don't think you're going to find any luck finding a qualified or skilled Italian mechanic out here in Midland but if you do, please let me know. I've had good luck in Dallas but the shipping gets expensive. I end up dealing with smaller issues until I can get a bunch of them taken care of at one time. It would be nice to have someone local to handle things as they pop up

I'm afraid my preliminary inquiries among my "car friends" isn't turning up much. I used to have Z cars and had a good mech then, but he is reluctant to do much on the 550. I'll continue the search and let you know. What flavor of F car do you have?

I also have a house in west texas, cant remember seeing your cars.

I have noticed more and more ferraris in the area. Been seeing an Enzo, 458, but mostly 430's.
