Yeah, these tickets have drawn quite the demand! I give them credit for putting on such a nice gathering of vehicles... in a short time they created quite an event Monterey weekend.

Quail sells out every year, and usually the demand exceeds supply. Even signing up early doesn't guarantee you will get tickets; sometimes they have a lottery and you have to get picked.

Concorso is a good event. But this year you could theoretically do both Concorso and Quail, since Quail is on Friday and Concorso this year is on Saturday.

Last year I was in the same boat: I scrambled for tickets and got some maybes and some commitments and in the end, I ended up with 2 extra Quail tickets (I paid for them too). It's not as much about the money as much as I feel like it's not worth the hassle for tickets and what you get for the money. It's nice that Quail and Concorso don't overlap this year but I don't know how I feel about jumping through hoops again.

At first they just e-mailed you when tickets went on sale. I seem to recall that when they went to a lottery system the tickets became non-transferable. Haven't gone since the new system, does anybody know if they ask for ID at the gate?

From what I understand, there is a waiting list to get Quail tickets which are quite pricey at $550/each. This is what what was sent to me from Quail a few months ago:

    WE ARE GOING TICKETLESS!
You will not receive physical tickets to the event
Tickets can be assigned to individuals prior to attending the event or held under one name
ALL GUESTS MUST PRESENT A VALID PHOTO ID UPON ARRIVAL TO THE EVENT WHICH MATCHES THE NAME ON THE GUEST LIST. GUESTS WITHOUT A PHOTO ID WILL BE DECLINED ACCESS
    Tickets are NON REFUNDABLE

I am not sure if they are strict with this policy.

Yes, this is all correct and policy is strict. I really don't know how tickets can be passed to someone else without some risk.

I have tickets as shown a car there for last few years; even if wanted to provide them to a close friend, I would call Quail and ask how they can be reissued.

The tickets were taken quickly -- sorry!

(I believe the case may be that not all tickets are yet issued so the original holder can direct how (in what name) they are issued if they choose not to use them)

Just as info, when you get electronic ticket confirmation, your name needs to be on the ticket. Quail does check ID for electronic tickets. Also, no longer are generic paper tickets, the ticket holders name is in a database that is accessed by a Quail representative to confirm it is you for admittance. Again, as said earlier in this thread; just to be safe, if buy tickets say off of Craigslist, and the ticket is in a different name, it could be risky to get access.

I found the Quail admin staff to be very helpful, so if buying third hand, you may want to reconfirm before hand with them, what may work best if given/purchased a ticket. I would think they can change the sellers name to yours in the database.

I have 1 ticket to Quail and am requesting another if anyone is in a position to sell theirs. Feel free to private message me on this thread and we can do a "square cash" transfer. No fees.

You would think those attending the nearby auction--as I remember only 400 ft. away at most--would be allowed to wander over to the Quail event. I would think if they have a bidder's badge that they would be recognized as fitting the right profile for the Quail--i.e. a sports car fan who spends money--or won't that do you any good?

The Quail tickets provides free admission to the Bonham auction, but not the other way around. I haven't been to either, but Bonhams is at one end of the Quail Lodge property (7000 Valley Greens Dr) and The Quail is at the opposite end (8245 Valley Greens Dr) with a shuttle between the two.

It doesn't do any good and the auction and the Quail event are not even close. I walked between the two last year and I think that it was almost a 20 minute walk for a slow walker like myself.

Correct, its too long to walk, at least for me, plus last year, the weather was unusually warm. Bonham's has ample parking and would suggest driving there.
