Happened to mine a year ago. Drove it with the annoying rattle until a few weeks ago. Told Casey @ FCI to investigate and advise...he said welding was fine (what I did). Good as new at least for now.

FWIW, I trust Casey's judgement. I had told him to order the part (another $500) if it couldn't be repaired to a good level via welding. I'm mechanically inclined, but have never welded, so I went with his idea.

I know the mounts blow out and the whole thing moves around so maybe that's what caused your problem. I'm not sure there is a particular issue, beside the entire regulator assembly is junk, but I would weld it. If I was concerned with the repair strength then I would gusset it, that includes the cable tube if the cable is still ok.

Happened to me. I understand it's not uncommon. A simple weld fixed it.

No worries, I', going to get it welded todsay so Ill take some pics before/whilst putting it back. I'm also going to try and source some stainless replacements for the hexagon screws in the door as they are £8 each here in UK so will be £64 to do both doors which is rediculous for 8 screws!!!! Just need to work out the size

Took my regulator to my mechanic and he did it whilst I waited - must of took him all of about a minute and didn't charge me so quite a good result! LOL

    Just ordered:

10 x A4 Stainless M6 25mm Socket Head Countersunk Screw (only need 8 but 2 spare in case I lose one LOL)

Hope they are the right ones! Cost me £8.28 delivered which is approx the cost of 1 from Ferrari!! Intention is to paint the heads red to make them colour coded as I have never liked the black head screws on display
