Is there any type of Flow Chart that lists all the CEL CODES for a 5.2 Motronic.

This would be an invaluable learning tool for me as I grow old with this 355…

I recently found one through a broad google search. It's a PDF and I printed it out and have it, and an ODBII scanner in the car. Sorry, don't have the link handy.

Got my first CEL this weekend, cleared it with the scanner and drove another 1000 Kms w/o issue or another CEL. An invaluable set up for the cars I'm finding.

You have the 355 5.2 CEL code list?

Pretty elusive from what I have found. Please share!

a photo of your printout will do if you don't mind!

Do you have a EU or US version 5.2?
How did you connect your OBD reader?

Are they maybe in the workshop manuals to download at All Ferraris ? The 360 list has been posted here before and presumably is fairly reflective

That's the one I have - thanks DrBob!

Make sure you've got the FNA 22A update done - which allows generic OBD scanners to work. Info in this thread here...

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/technical-q-sponsored-algar-ferrari/281905-obd-scan-tool-unable-connect-355-a.html

Then - the plug you're looking for is under the dash just to the right of the steering column - oriented vertically. It's a simple plug and play scenario.

As others have noted - the engine has to be running to get codes and the sync process can be a bit finicky.

I have the Innova 3130 - but I can't get past the "select vehicle" prompt to get to the generic codes. (Any tips?)

I just chose a random vehicle type as an experiment and managed to clear the CEL - which has not come on again.

    Hope it works for you!

    Dump the Innova. Get Actron.

Thanks for the advice - I'm not married to any scanner - why Actron?

I bought a very expensive Innova and was never able to get the thing past the "connect mode." I took it back and borrowed an Actron from a friend. Works every time. Since then, I bought one for my own. Works on every vehicle I attach it to, including a few Ferraris that refused to talk to an Innova.

I saw an iphone driven dongle over the weekend. That may be a nice toy ...

I have a very basic actron I got at pep boys. Works just fine for reading codes and clearing them. Its in the car all the time :)

I have left it plugged in for maybe a week or more and not using the car and I noticed the car battery drained. (new battery) and was thinking that maybe that's not a good idea.

Two votes for Actron - that's helpful! Will return the Innova and source one of these - preferred model #?

For now - my needs are basic -but I can see myself caring about extended features as I learn and tune the car to my liking.

Bob, didn't you also get one that has real-time readings while driving? I think I have the same as you posted although I've not used it yet.

I use a small module that plugs into the port and is read by the Torque program on my smart phone or tablet via bluetooth. So far I have had no problem reading codes and resetting them. It also gives real time readings that I can save. Module was about $25 on Amazon and the Torque program was about $5.
