As good? The LaF video is in a class of its own. Really really really good, and then add some. An absolute must watch. Easily on par with TG when it comes to production quality IMO.
Ah will pay for Drive + then. Just watched the free short version but it deels rushed. Really liked his other video's. Good camerawork (just as Top Gear) but much better in-depth information. His opinions also are more constructed to me than the ones of Jeremy Clarkson...
His opinions are constructed because they're not scripted. Clarkson is an actor and entertainer. Harris is a journalist and racing driver. Also a really nice video going through the interior of LaF on Drive+.
Laferrari video cost him no penny. He could just post it for free as an example of drive+ videos to come. It s not fair from me to be judgmental but i can't subscribe to the chanel in my country.
Of course the LaF video cost /Drive money. Assuming that in this case R&T covered CH's travel expenses because he wrote an article for them - TangentVector (the company that produces and funds /Drive) still have to pay for a camera man, his rates and accomodation. You have to pay for the edit of the video, you have to give Harris a compensation. Factor in the cost of insurance of equipment (I'm not sure if the stuff is onwed by Neil Carey or TangentV) and Harris, it's easy to see money being spent. Plus there are probably a few things I haven't mentioned. Just look at the sums he quoted for a couple of the previous /Drive videos.... There is a 14-day trial for Drive+. So see the full video, then be a tool and unsub if you want to watch it "for free." If you are having location issues just change the location on your profile or use an extension such as Hola. I can't believe there are people on a Ferrari biased forum (even the most affordable Ferrari's cost a few pennies) who are actually creating an argument out of the fact that the finest motoring channel on youtube has deemed it necessary to charge the equivalent of a couple of soda cans a month to see their fully fledged content.
"I don't need a drs button and a boost button and all that stuff.. I just need to get on and manage the thing" Chris Harris lol.. he likes that V12 : ) So.. he just confirms what we already knew.. Ferrari have built a very well balanced chassis, which looks amazing, goes like crazy, and it sounds incredible. All in all probably the best car to come from Maranello thus far.
Problem I have with these videos is that they are all the same. I'm not sure how original one can be but of all these P1/918/LF videos, I don't think I have watched a single one in its entirety or without ffwding.

From an owner on RT. Good to hear some more owner comments rather than journalist. Journalists are blah I don't know him personally, but his experience and collection makes me value his comments more than any journalist.
That weight must be the full EU weight (fluids + 3/4 of the petrol tank + passengers + luggage). Supercar manufacturers quote dry weight and Ferrari says that the LaFerrari is 1255 dry, which is circa 1350 kerb.
That kind of comments undermines what's left of your credibility and trust. You believe people only when they criticize LaFerrari, and not when they admire it. It's obvious you are obsessed by LaFerrari real or supposed superiority and the only thing that matters for you is to slam LaFerrari. That renders you very offensive and your posts useless. I value Chris Harris comments more than the anonymous guy you are talking about. When you read Harris conclusion in RT comparison article, no doubt his preference is going to LaFerrari.
How many miles did CH do in the LF? This guy has 3600 miles on his LF and apparently used it recently at Silverstone. How long does the average journalist have with a car, let alone an LF? An afternoon? A couple days? A week if they are lucky? Sorry, but most journalist, for as many cars as they've driven, don't own these cars or have any long term experience with them. It's why even journalist like CH can say the P1/LF feels way quicker than the 918, when in fact the 918 could be equal or quicker than both. Remember the bashing of Sutcliffe recently? Hell, half the time you don't even know if they're driving a production car and CH has even called out Ferrari for what he suspected were ringer cars. Also, let's not forget that journalist need to attract and audience and sell advertising. At least an actual owner like this has no stake in any of it and cannot be seen having any agenda. They don't have to worry about getting invited back to drive the next car. They can go out and compare the cars with whatever they want, wherever they want, whenever they want. And no, I don't only believe the criticism. In fact, what I posted wasn't even being critical. He seems to love the car from what I've read. It's just that journalist publish the same **** over and over again. You can read a 430S reviews, Speciale review, 458 review, or whichever car you want, and all you'd need to do is substitute the model names like a madlib because they never have anything groundbreaking to say. Ferraris are exciting and sound great. They handle well and are fast. The transmission has improved. The brakes are better. It has better aero. Blahblahblah. Big ****ing deal. We've known all these things for the last 50 years with ever new model. The criticism is the only interesting part because the rest is predictable and said ad nauseam -- just like the latest craze of showing cars doing stupid drifts for 5 minutes in a review.
Well it was just one opinion, a minority one should I add. Let's wait and see what our resident top drivers-owners (Manuma, Chalstrad etc) have to say when they track their cars. All testers have said that the car feels extremely light and nimble and I value their opinion cause they do that for a living and have huge experience having driven just about everything.
He recently said it was an amazing road car and insanely powerful. Said stock tires (Corsas) were **** and is currently putting Cup 2 tires, and that he will be weighing the car soon. Guess we'll find out soon what it actually weighs. The 1490 in the manual was with the lightweight options and was told upon delivery it was 1500 kg.
The problem is that there are all kinds of weights; dry, kerb, EU standard... Ferrari said that the dry weight is circa 1250 kg, which means kerb of about 1360. EU weight which includes passengers and luggage could well be near 1500. What really matters is the performance and the feel though.
Dear all, First post here. I can see that I'm being quoted and talked about from another forum so I'll jump in. The weight issue is just a number at the end of the day. However, feel and performance are dependant on weight (amongst other things). And Ferrari has never quoted anything and the press just relays fantasy numbers. All Ferrari said a while back was that the car weighs the same as Enzo. Anyway, we'll know soon. But it definitely feels more 1.5T than 1.35. I already wrote my impressions on the car at Silverstone and they were quoted by Noone. To be honest I realised yesterday that my tyres are completely gone, 6000 km of aggressive driving in the Alps and then tracking Le Mans 24h track, Magny Cours and Silverstone. So that could explain the less than perfect handling in the UK whereas it was pretty epic both times in France (that and track conditions were different). But also the tyres are Pirelli Corsas which are very mediocre tyres for the track. And the seats don't hold you well in place and the harnesses are fake harnesses (they look like toys compared to proper 6 point harness). I saw a video online of Hubert Haupt lapping his Lala in Austria and the car is clearly equipped with a bucket seat and a proper OMP racing harness so I'm in touch with the factory to get to the bottom of this. Again don't get me wrong, the car is epic but it is tuned for the road and for your average driver, which is normal. I don't intend to make it into a track beast, but hopefully bring a couple of adjustments that will make it the car I really want. It's almost there. On the road, it's pure magic. Leave the car in Race and it works on your side, put it in TC off and you can slide the back out with a safety net on mountain road. But that TC thing actually proves that Ferrari tunes their cars for the road. The manetino last two settings should be the other way round for a proper track car (like the Porsche GT3). First the ability to switch ESP off and keep the TC (like on a race car) and then if you want, switch off everything. The fact that they did it the wrong way means it's for sliding around in the Alps, no TC but an ESP to catch you if you've been too optimistic. Fun but not efficient for a lap time. I am sure other Lala owners who are serious about tracking will agree with me. As it is, it lacks grip and understeers too much in fast corners. I noticed Chalstrad has a tour de france Lala. Peter, c'est toi??? C'est Francois!!! We were on the podium at Spa 24h a couple of weeks ago!!! Oh my god if it's you it's just amazing, too funny, to find you on a forum! Guys are pretty aggressive here, a lot of fighting between Lala P1 918 etc. I wonder how many have actually driven them? See you end of August at Paul Ricard I hope! Ciao amigo!!!
Thanks. No laptimes, silverstone trackday are quite busy and the rules are strict, you can only overtake on the left, etc... I tried playing around with the telemetry kit but never got it to work, the cameras work, the computer drew the Silverstone track on the right hand side screen (awesome!) but then it wouldn't record any laps when I pressed race, odd... Then I had some clear laps but that's because it rained. And then my tyres were gone. The Corsas lifespan is very limited I find. And the compound is too soft, the car slides too easily with the systems off. That's driving back to back with the GT3 which was on Michelin Cup 2, grip level was another planet (granted, the Cup 2 were new, but still...).
