I should have invested money in Glasurit stock, or started buying it in 55gallon barrels! But black sure looks good on these cars, spyder in the center is a conversion, nearest to the camera is a 4.7 factory spyder, the coupe is a 4.9ss Rotisserie nut and bolt restoration and another 4.9ss buried under dust, and the next up for paint is a black Quattroporte 3. Also a photo of another Ghibli with one of my power steering kits installed.

Here is Ghibli #2110 in Black. Personal opinion Black is the best color for a Ghibli Coupe. Where as not so much on the Spyder. For me a yellow Spyder with wires works best.

Hey Joe, your Ghibli coupe looks great in black and since this thread is black Maseratis, I'll throw my 1962 Sebring into the ring for consideration. The exterior is enhanced with Borrani wires and the interior is accented with red leather. I have a mid-year Corvette with the same color combination, which is my favorite.

HeY Carnutz, Your black beauty from -63 is really stunning. My black series II from -66 has interior in "senape". Cheers!

Jan, your Sebring II is also gorgeous. The only item that would improve it a little is wire wheels. It would be a great photo if both our black Sebrings were side to side, but the only way that could happen is with Photoshop.

    Hello Larry,
I have considered it but this is how the car was delivered to signore in Rome when it was new and that in itself is reason enough for me to keep it that way. The Borrani bi-metal understated solid wheels that came with the Series II are also really beautiful with chrome steel centers and polished aluminum rims+the little Borrani stickers that are still there after all these years.
The Series II also looks, in my opinion, a little heavier than the series I. A Quattroporte I, for example, on wires really does not look comfortable.
To summerize Serie I best on Borrani wires; Series II best on solid Borranis.
Regarding our black Maserati side by side your are most welcome to bring your car to Sweden and Norway if your ever feel the urge. We could make a roadtrip to the Arctic circle! The roads along the Atlantic coast in Norway is really dramatic.
    Kind regards,Jan
PS by the way thank you for the useful information that you gave me on the camshaft numbers earlier this year. It was most helpful for my mechanic.

+1 I think it looks very nice with those wheels. Besides, everybody does wires and these are much easier to take care of!

No way you should change to wire wheels. In my humble opinion, not many cars look good with wires. The black series 1 Sebring aside:)
