Got mine yesterday. Looks great!!! Now I would like to find a way to create a (wood?) base for it to sit on with a light/LED inside shining upward into the crystal. Just placing the crystal over an incandescent light really looks cool and makes the horse pop out nicely. Thanks again. Dale in Badgerland
I ordered (via ebay) a 4" diameter rotating base the has 4 different led's (red, green, blue, yellow) that gradually changes from one color to the next. It's due in next week. Only downside (maybe) is that the light (I used an incandescent lamp for experimental purposes) shows any imperfections inside the crystal. There are a few tiny tiny "bubbles" that become noticeable with the light shining underneath. Just looking at it without light, you cannot see them unless you look hard. Dale in Badgerland
Just like a dark colored car under bright sunlight, everything shows. These crystal blocks are not really meant for lighting from underneath. Testing with low wattage led with the light centered in the middle produces good results but still a visual effect rather than the appropriate application.
Carl Pleased to tell you that my crystal Cavallinos were delivered yesterday - slightly delayed because of a public holiday here and the postal system's daft procedure of sending a bill by mail before sending out the goods. I am very pleased with the bookends. The Cavallinos are very sharp and will add something to my book case! Kind regards John
+1 Not much I can add - Great product, well packaged and arrived right on time. Thanks from me too! They're destined to be a wedding gift for my son early next year. I think I've found a place that can etch some appropriate text into them. I'll report back on if they can do it and, hopefully, with the results. Only "issue" for me is they're *heavy*....
