I am just finishing off the restoration of my 212/225 Inter. It was driven by Franco Cornacchia, under the Scuderia Guastalla team he ran in Milan. On an old photo i have it seems as though there is a logo and script on the wing tops. I wondered if anyone had reference to this as i would like to replicate it on the car. He was a very active privateer who campaign many cars under this banner so i was hoping for some reference somewhere. Any help greatly appreciated. I only have one very poor close up of the car. /Users/anthonybest/Desktop/Image 3.jpg
This Scuderia Guastalla logo come from summer 1953 if I'm not mistaken. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the logo. This is the picture i have which shows a logo i think Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have an original Scuderia Guastalla-member card. If you want I can scan the logo for you and send in high resolution - but upon my stay at the PB-weekend ...
A poster with the Guastalla's drivers with Biondetti died on 1955 and Castellotti died on 1957 ?? Then in the 60s Cornacchia had already gone to sell Maserati in Rome. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Colour version of the logo from the 1957 letter from Guastalla. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTE0M1g4MDU=/z/ud4AAMXQyFFTlKih/$_57.JPG
The early Scuderia Guastella logo is different: these are taken from 0088E and 0123S. This is the type of logo I'm searching for someone with an original Guastella Ferrari as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Cyrl Thank you for the photo. Thats exactly what was on my car. Its a script with a circular logo. Is the photo of my car 0237 ???
Hi Tony, yes, it's your car at the Supercortemaggiore's race (Monza) on 29th may 1955 (race number 24) with Bruno Moroni (DNF)...
Hi I have list of the races it was in, but this one is new to me thank you.! Do you know much about the cars full race history. ? I have the following June 53 2nd OA 2nd IC Trieste- Opicina Hillclimb Gerino Gerini 86 June 53 DNF GP dell Autodromo Monza Franco Cornacchia 24 July 53 5th OA 10hr di Messina G. Pinzero/ Achille Stazzi 10 Sept 53 1st Coppa InterEuropa Franco Cornacchia 52 Sept 23 1st IC Bologna Raitcosa Hillclimb Franco Cornacchia 333 May 55 DNF Supercortemaggiores Monza Bruno Morini 24 May 55 ? Coppa Lombardia Bruno Morini 334 Exported to Venezuala to race Sept 55 5th Ciudad de Maracay Hans Eggar ? Strange it did not race in 1954 although it changed ownership in Oct 53 and then to Morini in March 54.
Some corrections: Bruno Moroni (not Morini!) raced in the Supercortemaggiore Monza in July 1954 instead of the 1955 race so your car did race in 1954. The 1st Premio National "Cuidad de Maracay" was on the 5th of August 1956. The name of the driver is spelled Egger instead of Eggar.
Hi Thank you for the extra details. So are you saying the image and info Ardy posted on the Supercortemaggiores race in 55 is actually 54 ? or did it race in 54 and 55. June 53 2nd OA 2nd IC Trieste- Opicina Hillclimb Gerino Gerini 86 June 53 DNF GP dell Autodromo Monza Franco Cornacchia 24 July 53 5th OA 10hr di Messina G. The information available on various sites concerning the Supercortemaggiore is confusing. Barchetta and Racing Sports Cars list your car for both the 1954 and 1955 event, with the same combination of car/drivers/race number and result but some more detail for 1954. However, the Fangio site Fangio - Un tributo al chueco... - Pagina principal. has a very detailed account on the 1954 race which includes Moroni and your car.
The photo comes from the 1955 Supercortemaggiore because the car standing next to 0237EU is the 500 Mondial series 2 0512MD of Mario della Favera, a 1955 built car and also participant at the 1955 Supercortemaggiore (dnf).
