In some cases, we can verify geographical location right down to which house or building you're posting from, and at the very least we usually know which street you're on. However, we only look into it if there's a problem and we suspect multiple usernames. That tool is used to catch out the new accounts of returning permabanned users and spammers.

Many people do like their privacy though, so I'm not sure it would be popular to require people to state a location, even if it is as nonspecific as only making a country listing mandatory. Aside from manually checking the location of each specific user, I don't think we could verify the country everyone lists for themselves is correct. So rather than no location information, you might get lots of wrong location information. When it's left as voluntary, I think those who complete it tend to do so honestly.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Get rid of the Trolls... as soon as you post there is always some poor soul trying to troll posts, even in the Subscriber forums. It never ceases to amaze...

When starting a new thread make it possible to edit the heading to correct spelling etc. As of now you can edit the body copy but not the heading and must get a Mod to correct it.

I guess you don't see the Thread Tools drop down like mods. :) how about advanced edit option in those first 5 minutes after you select edit first?

Rob, tried the advanced edit and it doesn't seem to work on the MAIN heading only the secondary head. Haven't tried the drop down thread tools...is there an area for this?, ,didn't see it listed in the drop down.

Get rid of thread pages, ie. a thread is just a very long scrolling view.

I say this because if you make a post that just happens to the last one on a page and then another person makes a post you can pretty much guarantee that nobody will read your post which can be annoying.

If a single long page no posts would be missed.

I have always looked at new posts first, enough users *****ed I changed the default from new first to old first, but I think most are wrong about this for one, what you mention. change your default sort.

umm, bad idea because of bandwidth and speed limitations, especially now that most use mobile devices.

Yes I can see that would be a problem.

Could the display view of each page include the first and last post from the previous and next page, where appropriate. This would make maintaining the discussion context easier.

Would it be possible to add sub forums by model to the lamborghinichat section?

I agree, not much we can do about it without changing platforms. For public forums, sometimes Google just works better. There are also some tricks with Advanced Search to make the bad search engine less bad. :)

I find dressing up like The Big King wearing a Jason Hockey Mask while doing The Macarena immediately before conducting a search really seems to please the Advanced Search Deities. :)

    Heeeeeeeeey Macarena!
