He never intended to miss Prost so run off areas would have made no difference :).

And yes I'm no Senna fan but, in between mood swings, he could drive ... and pass.

Tiff Needell is on a Parabolica rant. I agree with him:

    Button mentioned the same :(.

The Challenge of the corner is gone now...Is your laptime going to suffer if you run wide? Not much, and during quali it'll get disallowed likely. Your speed at the end of the straight will likely be a little lower but should still be able to defend your position.

The challenge of the corner was how much you dared to get to the white line to get ideal speed is now gone...leave it a meter and your speed was too low, go over 10 cm and your time/race would seriously be hurt.

They should have had the tarmac at the entry of the corner, which would be fine during a big accident, and then gravel from when you start running close to the line. The challenge of the corner would be 100%, completely intact, and the safety guys would be happy.

Not sure what y'all mean. That post was copied and pasted directly from Needell's twitter feed. His words only. I edited it for clarity.

Some are saying the Parabolica is not as scary or punishing as it used to be.

The corner is ruined. Guys were putting wheels off all weekend and pushing much harder there because they knew nothign would happen if they made a mistake
