It is crazy how prices keep going up and up and up! I'm glad I bought all my 930s years ago and had the time to enjoy them. Now, if you wanted to by a 930, a comparably priced car would be a nice 355, Testarossa or a 360. I think I'd buy the Ferrari instead.

Out of curiosity, I checked asking prices for my 930. I was shocked. With these asking prices, I am seeing late 80's early 90's all over again. If I was smart, I would liquidate my collection NOW. But, I enjoy them too much and don't give a sh?t what they are worth....not for sale :) There will come a time when there are not enough buyers who can afford these asking prices and then it will tumble :(

It will happen, absolutely no question about it. Every market in history has always been cyclical. This is no different.
Its just that nobody knows exactly when it will happen. That's all.

True, but I don't that a major correction will not occur for a couple of decades, especially for pre-964 air cooled cars.

who cares whether top or bottom if you own to enjoy the car.

current bottom is much higher than historical ones, same as how real estate prices will not go back to 70's pricing.

you want to play you have to pay, or you can wait a decade for a crash that may never happen.

No one I believe is talking about a crash. I agree a crash won't happen and thus we are not going to see a 400-500k F40 ever again. It's just that relative values need to come into alignment again that's all. If you must play now however then you're right go ahead and pay. The problem is, and we know this very well, that many of the people paying at the moment are not doing so to play. They are doing so to invest, and I'm afraid classic cars are not like real estate, so it won't react like real estate.........
