Thank you, Trashi. And has anyone heard anything about this book ever being published?

Hi Jack- I spoke with Steve some months ago. According to him it is still "on", subject to Doug's schedule. I got the feeling that therein might be the delay, but truly do not know. Unfortunately, as time passes the market for this book likely continues to get smaller.

I agree. It's a shame that Phil Hill's legacy is slowly diminishing. He didn't receive the recognition he deserved during his life, and that hasn't changed. I wish a truly skilled biographer would take on the project, not just of this book, but a comprehensive biography. Phil was much more than a racer and his life was rich and interesting even after his retirement from racing.

Well put. There is that old saying "don't meet your heros". They are usually a total letdown in person. Phil was very much an exception to all of that.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this, but I'm moving abroad and do not wish to take all my books with me or store them. I have a large selection of Ferrari or Ferrari related books. If anyone is interested, please pm me.

    Regards,

    Mick

I’ve just picked up an interesting little booklet – “Cuban Grand Prix 1957” by David Seielstad. It’s 32 pages of A5 size (8.5” x 5.5”) but what makes it really worthwhile, besides the text by historian David Seielstad, is that it contains 26 colour photos of the title event. These were taken by Robert Pauley and his recollections of the event are also included in the booklet. So there are Ferraris and Maseratis in red, blue, yellow, white and various two-tone colour schemes. The cost is a reasonable $20 + shipping. More information here - Shop for VeloceToday Select Folios and Special Deals (interesting weekly web site) or email [email protected] . (Usual disclaimers apply)

Can you tell me what you think of the Scaletti book, I Quattro Cilindri? What sort of information does it have?
    Thanks

    Roger,I think it is a very nice book.Many foto's,mostly b/w.Italian language,limited edition of 1200 copies.
A thorough search on four-cylinder engines, created and developed in the early 1950s with sheets of engines, chassis numbers of sports cars and a full account of the results obtained in the various competitions held from 1952 to 1955.

    Hello,
I have a question about the following book, Ferrari 330/P4: the legendary 1964 sport prototype of Maranello by Paolo Marasca. There is the version in English language published by Motorbooks which has a slipcase, and there is the Italian language one published by "Electa" which seems to be without a slipcase. Is that correct?
    Thanks!

Hey! Where have all the bookies been? :)

Does anybody have any information about the forthcoming book about NART?

    Thanks.

    Jack

edit: Here it is! Unfortunately we have to wait for a year.

www.veloce.co.uk Search for N.A.R.T. A Concise History of the Nort American Racing Team. For some reason the link directly to the page doesn't work.

David Bull was supposed to have a NART book in the works some time ago. I wonder if it somehow ended up with Veloce or if this is a totally different book? I also wonder if this book will seek to encompass the full Chinetti/NART story, warts and all? Rumor has it that Coco is opposed to anything of the sort...

I was under the impression that Chinetti, Jr., was working on a NART book of his own. Perhaps this one is "unauthorized" and therefore more "warty" than Coco's would have been.
