Its at least a month away, probably longer because we leave for three weeks in Europe next Monday. Lots of electrical stuff to figure out yet.

No dessert for the 575 folks, sorry, it only works on a cable throttle system.

The control stalk on the steering wheel cover, its behind the light stalk and angled upwards a bit to be visible to the driver.

I am so happy to be a good guesser. When I saw the picture I thought, "could it really be true?"

Please consider my order for serial number 0000001 officially submitted.

Really? Kudos to you guys for the engineering effort and perhaps I am a minority of 1 but I have never used CC. Nope, never. In any car.

Good luck even if it is not for me!

We are a minority of 2. I just don't like it.

Kudos to MSW for the innovation, though.

What don't you like the concept or the wheel stalk? You could have stealth buttons perhaps elsewhere? There is no GT manufactured without cruisecontrol. To me it is a Ferrari oversight.

I'd venture a guess that the vast majority of Ferrari owners wouldn't opt for cruise control even if it were available as an option.

Frankly, cruise should have been standard on a $200K GT car, not an option. Hell, the 1983 Mazda I owned in my 20s had cruise control standard.

I think it's great what you're doing. Keep us posted!

There are other stalk options and even a bluetooth option so you don't even need a stalk.

    Lots of possibilities.

The hardware mounting is pretty simple, the electrical hookup is going to be a challenge. I'll sort that out when we return from Europe.

Can we get a $$$ estimate. I take delivery of mine in the next week or so, new leather is first and then this is second. I wanted to make sure it was possible. Interested to know what I will be looking at?

At this time I don't even know if its going to work. This is all experimental prototyping.

Its going to be a couple of months before I have any idea if we want to get involved selling it even if it does work.

Thank God someone is taking care of Ferrari's mistake. The thing I hate most about my 550 is the lack of cruise control. I live in las Vegas and have to go to Southern California or Utah about once a Month on business and because of the lack of a cruise control I always end up taking my Corvette because the 550 is just to dificult to maintain a constant speed with. In Nevada and California the speed limit is 70 MPH and you can run 80 MPH without getting stopped and in Utah the Freeway speed limit is 80 MPH so you can run 85 MPH, but if you get caught over those speeds you have just spent about $500.00. I guess it mite also be the fact that my 08 Corvette gets 28 miles per US gallon at 80 MPH on 87 octane fuel while the Ferrari only gets about 16 MPG on 91 octane fuel and the Corvette doesn't mind the alcohol.
Anyway put me down for the cruise control. Keep me posted on the price and when they will be available.

There has to be a way, even if it's less aesthetic. a Simple on and off switch would be a drastic improvement. Way to go, best wishes, safe travels and thanks - this is truly a game changer for many!

Sorry, I have no issue with the implentation. It looks great. I just never use cruise control. It's cruise control I don't care for, not the work here.

I applaud MSW for continuing to innovate.

Hmmmm.....in theory I like the idea of cruise control 465/550/575 etc :) Problem is, making it fit with the rest of the controls in the interior. As another poster has said, I applaud someone for working on this a lot, but if it does go into production, the stalk will have to be a Ferrari one like the other 2 existing ones. The one in the pic above just doesn't work at all - although I totally get that it's only a prototype!

A simple "on / hold speed" switch that is connected with the brake light switch to shut it off would be fine with me. It would be nice if it were interconnected with the engine speed / transmission but it is not that important to me. and I don't care what the switch looks like or where you put it just as long as it is handy.

Yeah. If you want it stealth place one momentary button under the column no one will see. Leave the CC always on when engine on or a second under column on/off switch. One button locks speed and brake turns it off. Most important thing is to have good feedback of the CC unit with vehicle speed sensor and quick response to keep speed with rolling hills and curves.

The best part about this is MSW doing it or thinking of doing it. The switchable steering ECU and COP conversion pieces as examples, are works of engineering art that meet and exceed OEM quality and robustness. Robustness was is a huge problem in the aftermarket. We would do things like change distributor points to electronics and the units would work then suddenly not.

OK, we'll work on making it sticky like the other Ferrari controls

Haha! You can delete the sticky part, it's just the style has to be the same :) just for the record and in the interest of fairness to Ferrari build quality (I.e. Credit where it's due!) none of the stalks in my 355 of 550 have been sticky. Slippy such that you can rotate them without lights coming on etc yes, but sticky no!

Please understand, we are NOT a business or a manufacturer, we are just a couple of hobbyists who like to fool around with our cars.

All I'm doing is trying to adapt an aftermarket product to the 550, That's all, I'm not at all attempting to market a product.

If what I do and post about helps someone else then I'm happy.

Many others have posted about things they have done and I've found those posts very helpful. This is just some small payback for all the help I've found here..
