In the long run, Honda will probably impose one driver of its choice at McLaren, like it did in the past. Ron Dennis will have then to select the other guy. But that may not be in force in 2015, which will be a transition year, I gather, with no driver change possibly. It will be interesting to see who Honda "pushes" in the seat, and if they already have some one on their radar. They may not rely only on previous WDCs to make their choice, but favour an up-and-coming new talent.
Personally, I think McLaren is using Prodromou as just as much of a draw to join the team as Honda motors. Newey's right hand man for years...carries some weight...
Well, I'm not sure what **** is, but I'd say it's probably that option. However, I'm no more a fan of Dan's than I am of anyone else. I don't have this national pride/bias thing. I'm still staggered that he's beating SV
I do ... and I'm not I never really felt Webber had a WDC in him like Brabham or Jones did and all his near miss proved was that the car is 100% of the reason the cars are the real champions. All the drivers in F1 given the opportunity to race the best car will be near the front, look at Rubens, Massa, Irvine, Kimi, Alonso, Webber, Button, etc Dan and Bottas seem a step up from the others but put them in a crap car and you wouldn't even notice them
I don't want Dan in a Ferrari, that will stuff his career. Next years RB I'm sure will be a rocket. The only thing wrong with this years is the boat anchor engine and Renault are redesigning it, as are Ferrari of course. Better engine in this years car and they would be challenging Mercedes. Yes Ferrari might be good next year but with Ferrari it is always a maybe. MS years were an anomaly. Pete
Gotcha. Me too on the last part. "We" can make all the excuses in the world for Seb, and Kimi and Hammy come to that, and luck sure plays a part, but at the end of the day...... It's still the end of the day...... I am a little surprised you don't feel some 'national pride" toward him though. Seems unusual for an Aussie..... Did you feel the same way with Jack & Alan? Cheers, Ian
Screw you....I'm not THAT old! lol Alan was champion before I started watching F1. However, I bought a motor bike from him once and was quite star struck. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very true. But, whereas VB is "just" beating dear old Phil, Dan is showing a 4xWDC the way! Stunning! Incidentally, Motorsport are reporting The Cans are building KI another new tub again.... Maybe he too is whining, but is smart enough to do it behind closed doors?... Cheers, Ian Sorry, the link; Vettel to get another new chassis for Monza | News | Motorsport.com Sorry guys, got the quotes a little confused there!
No offense intended! Cool!.... Still got it? (Or the plates? - that's a cool plate. If you're an old geezer & know who it is I guess. ) Cheers, Ian
I had to give the plates back to him. That's when I met him. I bought the bike from a dealer subject to returning the plates. I wonder if he remembers me? lol No..I don't still have that bike. That was in the early 80s.
Mate of mine had one and dropped it at Surfer International, the factory told him the delay was due to the tank being hand made
Alonso's clause kicks in today so I expect an announcement this weekend about whether he'll stay or go. Mclaren have offered 32 million...
Given that Mattiaci has said it might take up to 3 years to really turn things around, I would hope by now he is serious about leaving. He is simply not young enough to keep waiting on Ferrari. We might know this weekend!
It would indeed be sensational. Whether the "kick" would be a good thing is another question though...... I thought this snippet at the end of the story was more interesting TBH; Dunno if there's any truth to such rumors, but they're running out of time and, as I've said before, have no on track experience with the thing..... I think they're going to struggle next year. Cheers, Ian
