The car has been completely re-trimmed to a high standard. It used to have a pink interior! I’m not sure if that was original either. I’ve seen this car and the current interior is actually very nice in black and red.

Are you sure? Detail on 1994  Lamborghini  Diablo SE30  ZA9DE22A0RLA12005 The USA car has a different chassis number. Pre-production cars often have similar chassis numbers to production cars, especially the last 5 numbers, witness the instance of the Ferrari F50 pre-production cars for example.

The 25 USA cars - witness car number 4 (12005) has a completely different chassis number from the blue car, even though the last 5 are the same, not uncommon where pre-production cars are concerned.

For anyone interested, you'll note that the source of the chassis numbers I have posted is "Lamborghini USA" themselves, as can be seen on the right-hand-side of the attachment, and it was faxed to me in April 1997 when I had my own SE 30.

Anyway, whatever the details, that blue (very much like a Porsche Mexico Blue) is super-cool! That was my point...

No, the blue SE does not have this chassis number. The last numbers of the prototypes are different from the production cars

That's possible. What chassis number does the blue car have then?

No i think 000. I will check it when i´m at home. I saw the car in person this year.
Paint condition was not the best, some alloy oxidation on the doors was visible.

BTW as far as i know this car had only a Jota hood but never a Jota kit installed.

What makes the jota kit so "troublesome?"

I am aware of numerous issues with a significant percentage of the (supposedly 28) units fitted.

In fact, a number of cars have had them removed, which speaks for itself.

The Jota kit was designed for the track, means it has very hot camshafts which results in bad cold starting and an idle like a chain saw.
If you love performance the jota kit is THE thing, but just for the road it's not what one likes.
Since anyway 99% of all owners never push the pedal to the metal ...

And the throttle linkage at the manifold should be modified for a calmer throttle response.
