I have searched the past threads and sorry if this is repeating something already answered. A friend called me and said he bought a 355 spyder. He bought the car sight unseen with 25K on it little front bumper damage but all and all a nice car. one problem ...... No start.... We have 1 key No fobs and the Pin is nowhere to be found. We want to get fobs and a new pin but because we haven't heard the engine run I read there is someone on the forum that can possibly take the ECU and override the immobilizer so the car would start with the key only I wanted to know if the gentleman is still offering this service and if anyone else has had it done? Also where have some of the best dealers to get the changing of ECU and replacement of the FOBS done at a reasonable price I have been quoted 3K. any help would be appreciated. Dario
See the thread in my sig. You will need a new immobilizer kit. Last price I heard was $2k for just parts.
I suspect you are talking about a user here named Gobble. Gobble can clone an existing fob. He can not create a new one. Even with the code. Gobble can not make you a new fob. He can only read, copy & paste the code from one fob to another. For the record it works well. Sadly, you really need at least one fob or the code to get off dead center. Get back with the seller ASAP before the fobs show up on eBay. Otherwise you are destined for a new immobilizer system and the headaches that go with it.
All you need is a wire and alligator clips. I was cautioned to not post the details on the open forum. PM sent
I was wondering the same thing..If you get past the immobilizer and it still doesnt start or run correctly 2K could be a drop in a very big bucket. I wouldnt by a volkswagon gulf without a test drive..just sayin
I'm not worried about my car getting stolen so I would do this if it works. Having an F1, I doubt anyone would know how to start it anyway
Dave. Since you apparently were sent the secret on how to do this, can you at least let us know if it works.
It is done threw your door switch. The only thing is that you have to start your car in 60 sec from opening the drivers door or the alarm will re/set.This is no secret.
That's not entirely true. If the car was not locked, door switch or not, the immobilizer will be armed.
I bough mine based on pictures and conversations. And from some of the stuff I've read here since I bought it, I'd say I got a gem and cheap at that. Not only that, but the dealer I bought it from got it at an auction! Well, technically it was at an auction according to the paper work but I think it was an arms length transaction between dealers and I know who the other dealer was. Let's say dealer 1 took it in trade and didn't sell cars of that vintage so it ended up with dealer 2. Happens a lot.
BTW, not all 355's with immobilizers are wired the same. My starter will crank and car won't start unless immobilizer is disarmed. Others have car that the starter won't crank. Brian Crall confirmed that Ferrrari did not always wire the immobilizer the same
Want to bet? I can climb out the window, it won't matter. The immobilizer will rearm 120 seconds after the car is shut down.
I don't see what you are talking about at all. I can sit in my car and not open the door and the immobilizer will rearm in 120 seconds.
