I've had my 458 for about 2 weeks now. On the 4th time I drove it, I stopped at a gas station to run in and use the ATM. I parked in front of the store, off to the side where there were lots of open spaces and no cars around.

I replied to a text before getting out and while doing so, a woman in her late 30's ran up to my car and was going on about how awesome my car looked and asked what it was. She was dressed nice and seemed intelligent. After a short exchange I ran in to use the ATM and she turned around and walked away.

I walked out of the ATM and she was about 50 feet from my car, and shouted across the parking lot asking if I had any money because she was "just trying to get some gas."

I felt like saying she should have figured out if she had money for gas before she went to the gas station.

So, you were effectively "panhandled" in this situation? Lame.
I try not to talk to people at gas stations. If they pull up and talk to me, that's a different story, I try to be polite. The damn car causes such a scene at the pump that, 9/10 times someone wants to talk to you. Not a lot of panhandlers in the areas where I get gas though, so usually it's just some middle-aged admirer or some younger kid who respects the car. Both end the same way: "Can I take a picture of your car?"

You should have said "I was just about to ask you the same as I just realized I forgot my wallet at home"

Only gas station I know for sure that would never happen is Costco. Members can use it only and they only take debit cards. No cash.

It would still happen there, because a pan handler wouldn't know that

I parked my Ferrari in a scenic spot to take some photos of it. Coincidentally, it was close to a country club where some teenagers were cruising the parking lot looking for exotic cars to photograph.

When they saw me in my Ferrari, they came running after me. Once I had parked and snapped a few photos, they asked me if it was a rental - on the grounds that if it were my car I wouldn't be photographing it!

I dont get the rental comment... so what if it is a rental? In Canada its still about 1000 for the day plus a 5k deposit.

    I cant afford that and I have a F430

Last weekend at a gas pump I had a guy run up to me excitedly asking, "Is that a Lotus?"

    I said, "No, it's called a Dino."

Total disappointment washed over his face as he said "Oh" and walked off.

May be a repost but I seem to get a lot of:

    Want to trade?

My response: sorry, I already have one of those.

Mine is, "sure I would love the extra storage space". A guy with a pickup truck wanted to "trade". I think he appreciated my humor.

I dont want to appear stuck up either.

In the 60's my father-in-law driving a 250 used to answer "300" to any question before they even finished.

    How about this?

I'm in the millions of books store yesterday in SW Florida (Punta Gorda to be exact) I have a copy of Forza in my hands and I'm at the checkout. The very nice lady behind the counter says, "That's a cool Corvette on the cover."

It was a California Spider, I think.

I have to admit, I was stunned to find Forza in the bookstore in the first place, but really, the magazine does say Ferrari on the cover, does it not?

Now in all honesty, it doesn't surprise me that she thought it was a Corvette since that's the only performance car besides Camaros and Mustangs that are down here. I have seen one Ferrari in four months.

Gonna have to go get me one so there will be two in the county.

Kid in a JCW Mini Cooper S pulled up next to me in the 430at a light in very congested traffic.
He asked me if I wanted to race.
I told him only if he gave me a head start. He thought it was pretty funny
