Yep and Kimi sucks just as much. No point in arguing. The ACTUAL teams have a much better idea of what a driver can do but here we feel so good about ourselves :)

Comparing fastest laps is quite a useless metric. Comparing fastest laps on comparable stints is a little better.

    Massa does suck though

Worth a note on Belgium 2014 - the Williams #2 driver (that would be Massa) finished out of the points in 13th place, 48 seconds behind his teammate, #1 Williams driver Bottas, who scored an excellent and well fought podium 3rd place, moving up from his 6th place start - his 4th podium in 5 races. Massa qualified more than 1 second slower than his much less experienced team mate in 9th place, then dropped more than 1 second per lap over the race distance to lose 4 places and finish 13th.

Yes, Massa still sucks. He is getting dominated and schooled by a team-mate that was a F1 rookie last year. Points this year - Bottas 110, Massa 40.

to be fair...Massa had debris stuck underneath the car from hamilton that wasn't removed until the 2nd pitstop. It cost him 2 seconds a lap. When it was removed, he was immediately lapping 3 seconds a lap faster than he was before and was among the quickest on track.

Well, that does explain his lack of speed a bit. You'd have expected that Williams would have removed the debris before qualifying began, though...

Wait, you mean that only happened in the race? There wasn't debris to justify Massa being more than 1 second slower in Q3 than his team mate?

    :p

Awesome job today by felipe. Podium, beat his old team on their home turf and helped his team leapfrog the scud in constructors standings.

    Keep it up

Fixed it for you - awesome job in qualifying to be just behind his faster sophomore teammate.

Not sure what happened to Bottas start today, maybe just got boxed in by Hamilton's bad start, but Bottas ended up in 9th after lap 1. He actually had a good drive to get back to 4th, passing a bunch of cars along the way. Massa's "awesome job" was to hold his position and not lose places - given he was driving the second fastest car on the grid, his performance was the minimum expected. He didn't screw up, so that's awesome... ;)

My apologies, but it's not my fault that Massa is the #2 Williams driver and is being soundly trounced this season by his much younger, less experienced teammate. Sure, Massa had a good drive today, kudos. Bottas had a bad start (actually 11th after lap 1), and fought his way back past a lot of cars to score 4th. Massa had a good drive, Bottas had a great race.

It is actually fair to say that at Monza, Massa did not suck. Happy? :D

So, are you trying to invent new forum rules now? You don't like the existing forum rules? I might suggest that if the existing forum rules make you unhappy, that it might be you that wants to reconsider your participation... :p

... for the first time in Felipe's career since Euro Formula 3000, he's afforded equal status, and doesn't have to drive a car specifically optimized for somebody else -- asj.

As I see things it's the same old Massa - Too bloody inconsistent!

One race he's great and then the next race he disappears and frustrates the life out of you!

At Monza he raced well, but who knows what he'll be like in the next race!

The Williams is light years faster than the cars Bottas passed. So that was a foregone conclusion he would not be held up. Felipe had the better start and better race hence the podium. The other cars were not racing Williams given the speed differential.

Felipe is also a gracious and astute team mate giving Bottas much credit in the press for his skills and talent. Renewed contract again for Felipe. Yes he has no talent and is finished after Ferrari. I know I know its all just luck right? LOL!!

A big difference at Monza was that Magnussen collided with Bottas instead of Massa, this time. ;)

Must have gotten the two Williams cars mixed up. :p

Kobyashi, Perez, Ericsson, Kimi, Magnussen ...
Are all these drivers so young they think the Martini livery is a target? ;)

... can you imagine the English mobs, trying to pull that stunt, heckling Felipe Massa during his podium ceremony? This must be a humiliating thing for the good people of the British commonwealth, their people caught, red-handed, booing and jeering FIa's podium ceremonies, attempting to bring Formula 1 into disrepute -- asj.

... the stench of humiliation for Ferrari looms, once again. Ultimately, it's Luca di Montezemolo who finally gets his comeuppance.

Irony thick as molasses, by the very hand the most loyal employee in Ferrari history, it's Felipe who puts Williams to 3rd in the constructor's championship, demoting Ferrari to 4th, on Ferrari's home turf. For Felipe, nothing in his lifetime will ever strike his pallet sweeter, than the blood red taste of sweet revenge.

Without Ross Brawn, Ferrari is nothing. Ferrari is stinking up the grid - asj.
