When I had my townhome condo in Hawaii Kai, I had 2 car parking but it was a carport. Not really the best or most secure for a Ferrari and exposed to the elements.
We have a 2 bedroom at the Plantation there in Princeville. It has a nice attached little garage to keep the Blue bus in. We are booked up through mid Jan right now, when we will probably return ( after the Hawks win the superbowl again) But lets keep in touch as its always a possibility down the line. BTW it's a great source of income for us
Mililani was probably my favorite place to live there. Very centrally located, (traffic can suck, but I also lived in Ewa, and that was truly horrible.) Renting will not be a problem, as with the abundance of military, as long as you stay out of areas far away, like Waianae, you will be able to find a renter. Kapolei was developing quickly, and I think is a great place to purchase, although once again, traffic sucks. Hawaii Kai is beautiful, but was out of my price range. Good luck to you, someday I hope to return to the islands.
Thanks again for all of the recommendations and input. I'm getting some good leads on rental properties that fit what I'm looking for. My biggest concern (since I don't have kids and don't have to worry about schools) is parking the Ferrari. Is there any safe enclosed places in Oahu to park/store a car? Anyone have any garage space to rent Brian
Sounds like you will have to make sure you get a place with a garage. They aren't uncommon but not the norm. Craigslist to find places, ask for pictures of garage/dimensions, get address, use google earth to check out the area and street views. You can post up questions about specific areas on here or PM me and I will try to help.
Success. I was just in Oahu for my house hunting trip and found a nice, furnished condo in the north end of Waikiki. It has a fantastic secured parking area for the Ferrari. The Ferrari will arrive on island around the 22nd of October. I look forward to meeting all of a you and doing some scenic driving. Thanks again for all of the recommendations and assistance. Brian
You could register for this and bring your car. I am sure the Pacific Supercar Club can make room for you. Let me know if I can make a virtual intro for you. It would be great to see your car. If the weather is nice that day it will be a beautiful setting for you to get acquainted with the car scene on Oahu. Event Information | Okakopa Hoolaulea 2014
Thanks Kevin, I should have the car by the show date. Not sure it would be show worthy but I would love to attend provided I have everything in order. If you could make an intro that would be great. Thanks
