Ok so about 5-6 yrs ago I sold my 1995 gated 355 spider in order to climb the Ferrari food chain. In a previous thread I mentioned I had gone full circle and have recently purchased a 1999 F1 Berlinetta. With my previous 355 I did the shields, challenge grill, custom 360 steering wheel, skid plates , test pipes, exhaust etc etc. Whats your opinions on leaving the car stock (keeping stock parts) and or changing stock items out to make the car your own.
Do whatever your heart desires. I'm somewhat of a purist but have a few non stock items although I keep all stock parts so the car can go back to stock if I desire. - shields - custom exhaust (no muffler) - hill dead pedal - alpine radio (total waste coz I never turn it on) - OEM challenge grill - soon to be OEM yellow calipers
I say make the car your own while you have it. If you sell it in the future they can aways put it back to stock especially if you hold on to some of the parts for them. My 355 already had a full aftermarket exhaust and a few other things. I just put badges on it and the next thing I'm about to do some will call crazy when I post it up. My 348 was fll on stocker other then some shields when I got it. I had 360 modular wheels on it and the fog lights blacked out within a couple hours of it's araivale. Got rid of the cats for off road pipes and just installed different seats changing to all black interior and a one seatbelt system instead of the mouse belt system. Of course the clutch just failed on me and I'm thinking of changing from the twin disk to a single disk. It's my car it going to be what I want.
I am with Dave on this. I keep all the OEM items that are taken off my car. -custom headers (4-2-1 as OEM but with significantly better materials with OEM shields) -high flow cats(Evoflow) -295/35/18 rear tires -aftermarket floor mats came with the car(replace these with something that looks closer to OEM)
